The story of Christine O'Donnell's past got a little stranger Friday. Bill Maher -- on whose former show, "Politically Incorrect," O'Donnell appeared repeatedly in the late 1990s -- showed a previously unaired clip from Oct. 29, 1999, on his current HBO program, "Real Time," in which the GOP Senate nominee from Delaware said she "dabbled into witchcraft." From ThinkProgress:

O'DONNELL: I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. [...]

One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it. I mean, there's little blood there and stuff like that. ... We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a satanic altar.

If only Castle had known. He was a bucket of water away from winning the primary.

Like I've been saying all along, this woman is a nutjob of magnificent proportions. Coons in a landslide.

Thank God Maher decided to sit on this tape until after the election.

Wicca and new age religions are the fastest growing ones in the US.

Judging by my wife's TV and movie viewing habits and book choices, I'd guess that vampirism is rampant as well. The vampire shit is starting to get out of hand. I'm considering buying a neck shield.

I'm not sure those are the blood stained satanic altar types O'donnel was talking about. ;)

That's just a prop for the chicks. They get all horny and want to do it on altars. Same with funerals, when my dad died, women wanted to go in the back room and do it.

Given O'donnell's obsessions with sexuality, that actually makes a ton of sense. :thumb:

Makes sense...

...your Dad was a Warlock.

Explains a lot.

Isn't it interesting how this lady is being portrayed as an eccentric while her opponent is an avowed Marxist yet is seemingly given a pass?

Given the choice between the two I take the witch over the Marxist any day of the week.

Is she a whackjob right wing Catholic or a right wing Wiccan? The media can't seem to decide on an angle, but they're on her like white on rice.

Dems by 20 pts in November in this one.

Care to elaborate?

Are you referring to the satirical piece Coons wrote when he was a Republican?

So her opponent has actually declared openly and freely to the state of Deleware that he supports the policies of Karl Marx and defines himself as a Marxist?

Back in 1985, he wrote an article entitled "Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist". As J.E. Dyer from Hot Air's Green Room tells us, Coons was quite serious.

Upon returning from a trip to Kenya, Coons wrote:

“I became friends with a very wealthy [Kenyan] businessman and his family and heard them reiterate the same beliefs held by many Americans: the poor are poor because they are lazy, slovenly, uneducated,” wrote Coons. “I realize that Kenya and America are very different, but experiences like this warned me that my own favorite beliefs in the miracles of free enterprise and the boundless opportunities to be had in America were largely untrue.”

He also wrote:

“My friends now joke that something about Kenya, maybe the strange diet, or the tropical sun, changed my personality; Africa to them seems a catalytic converter that takes in clean-shaven, clear-thinking Americans and sends back bearded Marxists,”

A course on cultural anthropology, noted Coons, had “undermined the accepted value of progress and the cultural superiority of the West,” while a class on the Vietnam War led him to “suspect…that the ideal of America as a ‘beacon of freedom and justice, providing hope for the world’ was not exactly based in reality.”

His words, not mine...

Following his college conversion to the dark side, Coons has been a lot more clever than that.

What he has done while in positions of public trust is to establish a clear record of raising taxes.

The term "bearded marxist" may or may not have been intended as self deprecatory humor, but the confessional piece Coons wrote in college about his conversion to anti-capitalist redistributionist was not satirical.

Looks like she'll get along with the BO's bitter half's Mom.

Obama Mom-In-Law Practicing Witchcraft?
The Right Perspective ^

Barack Obama is reportedly steaming mad after learning that his mother-in-law is openly practicing Santeria in the White House.
72-year-old Marian Robinson, who lives in the White House, began practicing the Afro-Hispanic witchcraft in the late 1980′s to help her ailing husband, who was crippled from multiple sclerosis. Robinson took him “to ceremonies where they did spells and trances, and sacrificed animals, chickens and goats,” which upset Michelle, a close friend reports. “But Marian was desperate and kept going anyway, even when her husband was to sick to go with her.”

Michelle never brought up the incidents after her father passed away in 1993.
The friend says Robinson is now afraid for her health and recently invited an old friend with whom she practiced Santeria with to the White House. Michelle is said to have “flipped” when she saw the woman.
Michelle & Mom Obama “is quite upset about this on two different levels. First, he is a committed Christian, no matter what his critics say about Reverend Wright. He is adamant that Sasha and Malia be raised with Christian influences. He does not want them to be involved with African voodoo. And secondly, he is worried about the political fallout if his enemies get wind of this. Rev. Wright was bad enough, but this would be political suicide,” a close friend of Michelle’s confided.

Obama reportedly has told Michelle that her mother will have to go back to Chicago if she does not “stop this witchcraft mumbo-jumbo immediately” and ordered the Secret Service to not allow Marian’s friend to return to the White House.
