Isn't the base still under the lease negotiated by FDR in 1934? Looks like Roosevelt and Batista were buddies.

After the Platt Amendment was annulled in 1934, a new lease was negotiated between the Roosevelt administration and a Cuban government that included Fulgencio Batista as one of three signatories.

After the Platt Amendment was annulled in 1934, a new lease was negotiated between the Roosevelt administration and a Cuban government that included Fulgencio Batista as one of three signatories.

And Batista was a shill of the American corporations who abused citizens and executed nonconformists. An early one in the long like of azzholes we propped up to line the pockets of the Bushes and 89Hens of the world.
