Take some responsibility for your hatred, and see who you have killed.

Hey, Jon, do you take responsibility for straight teen suicides? I don't see a post from you supporting them and their troubles so when you ignore their plight you are as guilty as those you fault. :thumb:

1. No kids should be bullied at school, or anywhere else. Kids should be free from fear and free to make their own choices.

2. Kids should be taught tolerance but should not be socialized in school to embrace or celebrate the gay life style.

3. Consenting adults of sound mind should be free to do what they please with each other in the privacy of their own homes, without fear.

4. Consenting adults of sound mind should be able to make binding contracts for mutual support as they choose.

5. The gay lifestyle should not be imposed on the military. DADT protects personal choices, private conscience, and the military mission.

6. Gay "marriage" is a political ploy, not a "right." Traditional marriage is just fine. Gay activists should stop acting out and live their lives as they see fit, leaving the rest of society alone.

7. I have complete sympathy for the victims described in the video. BUT your hyperbole is bullsh!t, jon. I spent 25 years willing to die to protect your freedom, but I do not celebrate, embrace, or approve of your chosen lifestyle or your self-obsessed political agenda.

It is not a choice

the science is very clear on the subject

people can not "choose" to be either gay or straight any more than they can choose to be born with blue eyes or brown hair

This is all the bitter fruit of Conservatism, as espoused by such luminaries as Reagan, David Duke, Rove, Falwell, Robertson, McVeigh, Phelps, O'Connell, Rummy, Gingrich, Bork, Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Bo Gritz and Phylis Schlafly.

That's not a true statement.

Maybe not, Hen, but neither is it true to say otherwise.

Yes, it is.

So says the AMA and the DSM-IV

The science is extremely clear on the subject.

While I agree that it isn't a choice, to say that people can't choose that is false.

Also, shouldn't you be upset that homosexuality is saw as a mental health issue that it is listed in the DSM?

Also, FWIW, the DSM-IV has many many flaws in it.

I don't think people choose to be gay or straight. But I don't think you can make this statement. Just saying.

And DBJ, not all kids that get picked on to the point of commiting suicide are gay. Fat kids and nerdy kids and just plain weird ones gets teased just as much as gay ones.

It is no longer listed in the DSM-IV as an abnormality or personality dis-order, as it was before it was more completely understood. There was a time when it was listed right there beside borderline personality dis-order and all the rest.

Trust me Chad, I know the DSM better than you do on this one, I was married for 10 years to a clinical social worker who's speciality was sexual disorders, specifically JSO's(juevinille sex offenders)

I'm currently married to a mental health counselor. We have the three different DSM's in our house.

I won't get into the whole social workers as mental health counselors, because they don't have the proper training to do it but are allowed too. That is a whole different thread and professional debate on it's own.

I've helped TBH with some of her studying. TBH had to basically memorize the DSM for her program, I don't buy the "I know it better than you" thing in this case.

From an APA( American Psychiatric Association)paper on the subject, dated 1994:

In the fourth and most recent edition of DSM, DSM-IV, there is no reference to homosexuality, Cabaj noted, except perhaps under "sexual disorder not otherwise specified" (Washington, DC: APA; 1994).

I'm aware it isn't currently in the book, but that doesn't mean it isn't thought of as a mental disorder by many in the field.

so if I kill myself, my family will then be afforded the right to blame it on atheists whose rants against my beliefs affected my brain to the point of not wanting to live in a Godless world or how about ASU fans whose rants against WCU clouded my judgement. JESUS JON, better luck next time. I know gays who function in the normal world and never look to buck the blame, if there is any, on to anybody else. Got an old friend from high school, committed in a loving relationship, great job, attends a very gay friendly church. He seems to get by. Love ya bro, but come on!!! :thumb:

Hey, I don't "hate" the guys for this. They're just khundts. What gives me hope is that their type will die off and the world is becoming more and more progressive and inclusive. It sure ain't going backward to their sh*t.

I don't know how a fvck like DJH or native can live with themselves hating and wanting to discriminate against people the way they do. How could someone be married to sh*theads like that, too?

Ick!
