From the AP:
Poll: Many Obama 2008 supporters defecting to GOP
"...Nearly two years after putting Obama in the White House, one-quarter of those who voted for the Democrat are defecting to the GOP or considering voting against the party in power this fall. Just half of them say they definitely will show up Nov. 2, according to an Associated Press-Knowledge Networks poll released two weeks before Obama's first midterm elections..."

Sounds like the reason is not thinking clearly and we're scared.

Obama: Dems are in trouble because Americans aren't thinking clearly
washingtonexaminer.com ^ | 10-17-10 | Byron York
At a Saturday-evening fundraiser held in the home of a wealthy Massachusetts hospital executive, President Obama suggested Democrats are having difficulties in midterm campaigning because Americans simply aren't thinking clearly.
Seeking to explain his party's troubles, the president focused not on controversial legislation like national health care and the stimulus but on evolutionary psychology. "Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we're hard-wired not to always think clearly when we're scared," Obama told the assembled Democrats, who paid $15,200 a person to attend. "And the country is scared."
First Lady Michelle Obama has also occasionally diagnosed the American public. According to an account in the New Yorker, she said at a March 2008 rally in South Carolina that Americans are "guided by fear" and that the United States as a country is "just downright mean."

We'll see in a few weeks, but the polls seem to indicate that the GOP will fare well in the next election.

The thread title is misleading. There are undoubtedly countless people who voted for Obama that are dissappointed in his performance - some of which will vote GOP this election. But very few Obama "supporters" will. I'd also guess that most independents will continue to vote that way.

Sadly, for all of us, that's pretty accurate. Bouncing from one bad party to the next.

Although I consider the people
who voted for Obama 2008 to have been "Obama supporters," I suppose in your world it depends on the definition if "is," eh, kalm?

Obama's right, the country is scared.
What Obama doesn't understand is that the country is scared
of him.

Where is the “I didn’t vote for the incumbents in 2008, and I am not voting for the incumbents in 2010” option?

The reason is being analyzed down to the simplest denominator by political elitists. That whole article sums up why some people simply hate politicians like Obama. This is one of the prime reasons Obama is going to receive a four year head start on his book tour/ Harvard professorship career. (Aside- note that I didn't say DONK elitists, because there is plenty of elitist analysis from the GOP as well, but there seems to be a little less of it than in the Democratic Party)
BTW- I had to check "other" because I did not vote for either party last election, and unless Romney is the GOP's guy in 2012 it is doubtful I will vote for either party in that election as well.
