TSA to investigate Oceanside man ejected from airport, may prosecute
SAN DIEGO — The Transportation Security Administration has opened an investigation targeting John Tyner, 31, the Oceanside man who was ejected from the San Diego International Airport on Saturday morning after refusing to undertake a full body scan and, subsequently, a pat-down body search.
...
He even told the guard, "You touch my junk and I'm going to have you arrested."

Is the TSA out of control? Will you be changing your flight plans?

TSA is NOT out of control. They are trying to keep us safe. Are they perfect? Nope.
But the guy was a douche-bag. And the fact that he recorded all of it shows that he was looking for a confrontation.

Yes, TSA is out of control.
And, yes, the dude was a douche for the reasons Jon said.
I don't plan on flying anywhere for the time being. And a lot of people will end up doing the same. The airlines are going to lose their shirts over this, and then TSA will have to change the policy or lose funding AND leadership when the airlines send massive lobbyists to Washington.

I think it's us that need to change our policy.
We're willing to torture others in order to insure our safety, but don't let trained airline personel touch our junk.

If Joe Schmuckatelli did that to ANYONE, he'd be up on charges quick. Why does that change just because these people work for the feds?
This is one step away from legalized rape.

As long as they are hot, TSA men can frisk me all they want...

Please, stop the drama. They gave him the option of the back-scatter machine. They informed what the alternative was. They allowed him to leave.
That is an insult to anyone that has ever been raped.

I'm not objecting to what you said about the dude in THIS case, Jon. You're right. He went in itching for a fight. But I would object if anyone were to touch my wife, kids, or myself in that fashion for ANY reason. (Of course, I don't have any of those.) It's not right.

And they don't have to be touched. Just go through the backscatter scanner, and no problems. The hand search is ONLY for those that refuse to walk through the scanner.

You are very, very wrong on that count. It is not a see-through machine, or even close to it.
No, a government fail would be to do nothing, and let planes explode all over the place.
It sucks, but as long as we have people out there trying to hurt us, we have to take measures to protect ourselves. It you don't like it, you can drive, which of course gives you a greater chance of dying...

The TSA are kinda fucks but if you're gonna fly you gotta put up with it right now. Putting stock in the TSA to protect ya is a lot like putting stock in meter maids to stop a bank robbery. The meter maids just get a little more self important is all that happens.

I literally just flew from Boise to Seattle tonight - you know - the flight that all the terrorists take
And I did indeed get "felt up"... Which is interesting because I didn't get fondled on the flight to Boise from Seattle on Sunday Night
But on the return flight tonight I had a couple of micro circuit boards and a 3400Mghz wireless transceiver.. which I'm pretty sure put me on the "fondle" list

TSA and the Fed government have their share of d-bags too (including the ultra-militant Janet Napolitano!).
I don't blame anyone for questioning these practices......they are getting WAY out of control.

They can just get super-charged with possible cancer causing radiation.......great choices!

Or they could have locked the damn cockpit doors on 9-11.

And who can blame most of those TSA minions?........they went from the outhouse (McDonald's 7-11) to the penthouse (nice, cushy Fed job with lots-o-power).......cue the Jeffersons theme song!

you do realize you get 200-400 times the radtation on THE FLIGHT itself than the machine.
