9mm is for pussies. If you don't have a .45, you're not a real man.

What, no WInchester ammo? I would think many people with guns have a least one box of Winchester ammo sitting around, no? I've had two mags of Black Talon .45 sitting next to my Sig P220 in my safe for ages.

Well, I was only counting actual WEAPONS. I'd have to go look at the brand of the ammo. :thumb:

It's not the size, it's the placement...

I use Speer Gold Dot for the hand-guns...and MILSPEC 30.06 for the anti-zombie weapon...

No Winchester..... :kisswink:

The .45 is manly, alright, but put a little more effort into the study of ballstics before disparaging the 9 mm round. If your target is wearing defensive armor, some 9 mm rounds do a better penetration job than the typical .45 round.

The point is that if you can master a .45, you can master any handgun. The .45 is the real test of manhood.

Had the 29 in .44 mag., SS, Long barrell. Great for wild hogs in Manzanita scrub.

Not that I'm any good shooting anything, but what's wrong with a M9? I've heard that the M1911 is a good weapon, but why is the M9 so bad?

No one said the M9 was a bad weapon...the crack was on 9mm ammo...

The Beretta M9 is an outstanding weapon...the only problem with the military version is that they use FMJ ball ammo (per the Geneva Convention) instead of JHP ammo, which just about every LEA and SD carrier packs...

Ah. Thanks, Col.

Of course, in my case ammo wouldn't make a great deal of difference. The first time I went to the pistol range, I hit the bench instead of the target.

I wasn't much better with the M16, either. I had more than my fair share of UNQs and just barely qual'ed a couple of times. (Per Marine standards, anyway. One or two of my Marine standard UNQs would have qual'ed under Navy standards.) By the American interpretation of the Geneva Conventions, I was supposed to be the Chaplain's bodyguard, but I had a priest who could shoot better than me.

Well, lets see...

Remington 30.06
Winchester 30 30
Bennelli pump 20 and semi-auto 12
remington 1100 in 28 and 12
browning 12 and 16
traditions vortek .50 cal muzzleloader
Huglu 12 o/u
Mossberg bolt action 7mm

I may be a hippie, but I like shooting stuff.

no handguns though. I've been thinking about getting one to play around with at the range, but just can't seem to want to spend the money. I would rather spend that money on a crossbow. There is a ten pointer that hangs around the woods down at the lower end of my neighborhood, and since you can't discharge a firearm in the city limits, I need a bow to kill it. My rotator cuff is shot in my right shoulder, so it will have to be a crossbow. Gonna have to get really good with it though. Gotta take it down hard. Last thing I want is to have to explain to one of my neighbors why the deer I just shot fell into their pool while it was running away because I just I put a bolt in its ass. :? Urban hunting has a few extra twists to it.
