After a month-long recount showed he was still down nearly 9,000 votes, Republican Tom Emmer finally ended his efforts to be Minnesota's next Governor.
Congratulations to Emmer for doing the right thing, rather than dragging out a lost cause and wasting time and money on fruitless legal challenges.
Pretty damn excited to have the Gov's mansion for the first time in 20 years. Congratulations Gov.-Elect Dayton.

Didn't the GOP pick up seats in the MN state legislature, TTBF?
And we managed to bump off Oberstar.

Glad to see all the money was wasted, Asshole Target, Inc. Plus, you lost a lot of business.
Maybe that will teach you to stay the hell outta donations from a corporation.

yeah - we lost the house and senate...
it didn't have to come to that - in late august i got in to a huge blowup within the party over strategy... my side lost the argument, but we were vindicated in the end... we were pushing the caucuses to fall back... accept that they were going to lose the marginal seats we won in 06 and 08 - the kind of seats you win in a wave year, but give back quickly... but they wouldn't listen... we told them in late august to do this... cut bait on 15 house seats and 7 senate seats... probably would have saved our majorities...
plenty pissed about that
this was a "throw everyone out" election... Oberstar, probably one of the most effective congresspeople in decades, got caught up - and in the end MN Dems made the mistake of assuming he couldn't be beaten - by the time we realized he really was in trouble it was too late... Cravaack ran well, and a lot of people not used to having to fight for it awoke to realize they had forgotten how. (oberstars ads were AWFUL - didn't help either)
