Obama should win this thing. Now no bitching once he gets into office by all of you that voted him in.

I will pray every night for the sportsmen and gun owners of this great country.

Ohio called for Obama - that's ballgame. In a little bit VA will be called for Obama too - even though McCain is currently leading (liberal precincts still haven't reported in)...

I have to wonder who the Dems will blame if things don't "change" for the better.

Wouldn't worry too much about that....recent Supreme Court D.C. ruling enables citizens of DC to have handguns legally.....wouldn't worry too much about sport shooters and hunters in Montana.....

Yeah worrying about guns has some merit (not much) though because it was messed with by Clinton but it seems like something that shouldn't be a big worry to most. It's just like Liberals and the Roe vs. Wade deal. There has been a lot of Republican rule since that decision and the Republicans have yet to stop a single abortion.

I will say this one thing and drop it. The election is over and no sense crying over spilt milk.

Obama wishes to increase taxes on ammunition ( powder, primers, brass, lead) 500 percent. Lead and brass is getting really expensive this past year or so. He also wishes to prevent people from buying semi-automatic hand guns as well as rifles.

I will pray neither of these things happen.

OK, I am not as versed in politics as the rest of you, I just try to keep up and fake my way through the rest of it.

Can obama get more of his buddies into the supreme court to change past rulings? The last vote was 5-4.

Grizza can you show me any proof to your claims? I can't find any, other than statements on far-right websites...

What has he proposed?

On what? The tax increase on ammunition and the ban on semi-autos?

Yeah I was pretty sure that is what you were talking about and I also hope the same which is why I said that it was messed with by Clinton before. I don't know if he will get away with it or not but it will be fought hard if he tries this and will be a major chink in his armor if he does so for the next round of electing. I don't see how he could get it done without dooming anyone that goes along with it that represents in the middle of the country, the SE, and the Western States.

I have it on my home computer. I will post it tonight when I get home. I might be able to find it on the net from here. Give me a minute or two.

This is from his website.

http://www.ontheissues.org/Barack_Obama.htm#Gun_Control

FactCheck: Yes, Obama endorsed Illinois handgun ban. (Apr 2008
Respect 2nd Amendment, but local gun bans ok
2000: cosponsored bill to limit purchases to 1 gun per month
Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions

He wants to take away my CWP also. So I am unable to carry a concealed weapon. I passed all the tests, scored in the 95th percentile in the live fire exersize, and had a background check. I would think that I am ok, I am not a felon and not a nut job.

Please do. And make sure it is a current proposal, from Obama himself.

Thanks!

Obama believes that CCW is a STATE issue. While he voted against it Illinois, he does not advocate a Federal Law one way or the other.

dback, that is about as generic as it gets. He can say all he wants before the election and now that it is over he will do what he pleases. Who knows what he will do. But I will find the news article and post it when I get home.
