Then they casted illegal votes for over a day. Its possible the House will have to hold re-votes on every vote taken that the two participated in prior to officially being sworn in.

Were the votes really that close? If it's that big a deal, just delete their votes. For most bills, two lost votes are probably not going to make a difference. In the rare case that it was THAT close, THEN take a re-vote.

Figure out how many illegal votes they cast, and then bar them from voting on an equal number of bills once sworn in.

Also, don't count the votes they cast before they were sworn in. No need to revote, just don't count their votes. If that changes any results so be it.

Nice. Tea Party endorsed candidates violating the constitution. Who woulda thunk it.

Could you imagine the uproar from the right if a democratic president messed up his oath of office?

While it's not a constitutional crisis, it shopuld be ignored either. These are the guys we elect to run the country and they start breaking the rules before they are even in office. I don't care if they have an "R" or a "D" after their name, this crap shouldn't happen.

We can't expect change in Washington if we don't start holding politicians accountable. They knowingly broke the rules, they should be a penalized. Maybe a slap on the wrist, but penalized just the same.
