I'd rather they let him keep his show but pull him from the football commentary.

I can always not watch his MSNBC show, but when he's doing the NFL I am sometimes forced to tolerate him.

According to Yahoo!, it's not known at this point who broke the four-year contract Olbermann signed two years ago. Given that they didn't have time to change their ads (an Olbermann ad advertising a show for next week) aired about half an hour after he signed off.

There's speculation he might go to CNN, but if it was Olbermann who ended the show, he might be under a noncompete clause similar to Conan. Also, according to the article, it would be a sea change for CNN, which has (officially, anyway) been nonpartisan.

I tried to watch his show a few times because I liked him on ESPN but the guy just seemed really bitter and hateful towards anybody not in ideological footstep with him.

I fancy myself as conservative but as many who lean left and have met me will tell you I firmly believe despite ideological differences we all want the same thing: educational and economic opportunity, the best future possible for our children, safety and security, and a stong community to live, work, and raise our kids in. Fundamentally most of our values are the same and we are all pulling in generally the same direction and can live together.

I never sensed that from Olbermann and IMO he is a bitter, hateful, uncompromising elitist. MSNBC will be better without him.

Shit...I hope he stays the fuck away from the Dan Patrick Show. I'd hate to want to stop listening to that.

It's not like Cornell is a real Ivy League school, IT. Just look at their band.

It's probably a wise choice not to have a scramble band. Those get beaten up sometimes.

First Air America and now this?

How can we keep our heads up with all this bad news? I think the government needs to spend money on a study and then fund a startup program to help us deal with this loss.
