not surprising... but sad that the Twin Towns lost out (kinda... 08 was awful across the street at the Xcel Center when the tear gas wafted in to my building...)

It would be more appropriate to hold it in Chapel Hill.

But then my parents are old and the tear gas might harm them if it floated a little ways up US 86.

I hear that the unions are raising hell about this choice because NC is a Right to Work state. Watch for changes to come. Will it be the venue or NC law?

It won't be the law.....the NC economy has benefitted dramatically from its right to work status. Unions are pretty toothless beasts in the Tarheel state.
