BTW, am I the only one who finds this rather ironic?...
But Douglas Quint, a concert bassoonist who operates The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck in New York during the summer, said he believed that people should make informed decisions about their food.

“It literally leaves a bad taste because I know the people who are putting this food in my mouth actively loathe me,” he said. “I’m all for freedom of religion, it’s just that I know where I want my money to go and I don’t want my money to go.”

Well, he's a, "buffoonist", isn't he?

I love it when bigots confuse public criticism as a threat to their ability to do business.

As an aside, you don't see an NBA star and a bassoonist in back to back quotes very often:
“I’m not a fan of Jesus at all, but I still go to Chick-fil-A maybe once a week,” said Tony Parker, 25, of San Antonio. “Your reason for not going to a fast-food place is bad customer service and poor food quality, not religion.”

But Douglas Quint, a concert bassoonist who operates The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck in New York during the summer, said he believed that people should make informed decisions about their food.
edit: Beat me to it.

I'd never eat there for that very reason...

same reason I won't order pizza from Domino's or drink beer from Coors... voting with my dollars...

Would you eat from the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck?

Eh, they make good chicken. I use a propane supply service that puts out real annoying Jesus newsletters every quarter, but you just can't beat their service and timlieness (and price). Seems like a little thing (the supplying of food to a small meeting of a group some people don't like in Harrisburg) to get all upset about. But hey, to each their own.

Goddammit, GannonFan! If you are giving those people money, then it means you are in bed with the Devil....er...maybe in bed with Jesus. Whatever. And if you are alowed to post here, then this place is damned to...uh...Salvation. And we'll have NONE of that goodie, goodie happy ending stuff here. No, sir! :ohno:

Chris, your site is now doomed. The gays will reject this site (we'll miss you Travis), as will the Islamists.

I vote to ban GannonFan and anyone who has any dealings with anyone with any belief in anything...including scrapple (poor pigs).

Only people who support nothing and have no opinions will be allowed. <-------- Uh, that is a fact, not really an opinion. Don't get me started.

sure...

I'm not willing to give my money to business that supports the things I spend the rest of my life fighting against... I wouldn't expect someone with views opposite mine to patronize that ice cream stand... and I wouldn't blame them... every action is a political statement to one degree or another - for me, it's a question of when does a companies behavior go "too far" Target and Best Buy pouring campaign money into a GOP front group in 2010 ended my patronizing of their businesses as well... and while I am well aware that they likely don't miss me at all - that's not really the point.

Seems a bit overstated IMO.

Chicken? We're talking about chicken? Chicken?

Not every little thing in life needs to be turned into some ordeal.

I generally agree - but when I can avoid funding those who stand in stark opposition to the things I believe - choosing to not give them my money seems a very small thing to have to do...

You mean like you (and others) getting all bent out of shape over D1B being a jackass on a football message board?

Well, there's plenty of us to make up for you.
-I often order from Domino's when I'm on the road (they've had a great deal going since at least sometime last yr for 2 2 toping medium for $5.99 each).
-I occasionally shop at Best Buy and will continue to do so (just bought 2 50" Plasma TVs from there).
-I occasionally eat at Chick Filet and will continue to do so.
-I occasionally shop at Target and will continue to do so (although I do get annoyed at their refusal to put up anything that says Merry Christmas (at least that used to be the case), and they kicked out the Salvation Army kettle bells
-I rarely drink Coors, but I won't stop in the future.

So what you are really saying is that you will throw your support only towards things that you believe in...liberal "tolerance" be damned.

And in the case of the Gay ice cream truck, you openly support someone who makes a business decision to advertise his sexual orientation in order to...what...draw attention to his gayness?

Are you serious?

How about supporting a donut business that says, "Big Daddy Shoots His Cream into Dozens of Holes each Day"? Hey, what do you think of white people who only support white owned businesses?

Wow.

Not with the deals I got on the Plasma's. The newer better Plasma's have antiglare filters, eliminating a prior problem if you're in a lightened room. Would certainly take Plasma's over LCD. 1080P 50" Panasonic I got claimed MSRP of 1k-$1200, Best Buy had them for $899, I walked out of the store with them for $699 (in DE, no sales tax). Nowhere else, online or brick and morter, came close. Now as far as LED-LCD, the sizes went from 47" them jumped to 55". Don't recall seeing any 50". Least expensive 1080P LED-LCD I saw were Vizio, 47" minimum $800, and 55" $1300.
