Squirt Gun Ban in Hawaii????

The Most Over The Top, Nanny-State, I Know Better Than Any Other Parent Award of the Year should go to Hawaii Democrat state Representative Scott Saiki (pronounced "psyche")....

He's proposed a law, that if passed, could put a vendor IN JAIL for selling a squirt gun to anyone under 18...
Saiki's proposed legislation makes no distinction between an obvious toy (like a SuperSoaker) and a toy altered to look like a real weapon.

The intent appears clear - sell a toy gun to a 6-year-old; go to jail. Perhaps Hawaii has a problem with black-market toy guns no one else knows about, or Saiki thinks toy guns are a "gateway" to purchases of AK-47's.

As stupid as this thing might seem:
Wouldn't it be fair to say that if the people of Hawaii agree they'll vote accordingly...
Weren’t we just talking about a politician in Utah trying to take state benefits away from Single People?

If that's what Utah wants - and - if this is what Hawaii wants (who cares?)

Spot on.

I propose banning baggy pants (...or at least requiring every male to wear suspenders or a belt), and tennis shoes can only have black and white colors.

Agree with you on the baggy pants but no one plays tennis anymore so that really won't change a thing. ;)

JK. I like tennis. I played it for the first time in years last fall, but popped a calf muscle real good. I'm either getting too old, or too fat, or both. :ohno:
