AFA Radio: Native Americans morally disqualified to govern.

According to the American Family Association, Native Americans are "morally disqualified from sovereign control of American soil" because they rejected early efforts to impose Christianity upon them. Bryan Fischer explains:
The native American tribes ultimately resisted the appeal of Christian Europeans to leave behind their superstition and occult practices for the light of Christianity and civilization. They in the end resisted every attempt to “Christianize the Savages of the Wilderness,” to use George Washington’s phrase. They rejected Washington’s direct counsel to the Delaware chiefs in 1779, “You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ.” Thomas Jefferson three times signed legislation appropriating federal tax dollars for the evangelizing of the Native American tribes. It all came to nought, as one tribe after another rejected the offer of spiritual light and advanced civilization. God warned the ancient nation of Israel not to lapse into the abominable practices of the native peoples “lest the land vomit you out...as it vomited out the nation that was before you” (Lev. 18:28). Time eventually ran out for the Canaanites, because they filled up the full measure of their iniquity. Time ran out for the native American tribes for the same reason.
According to Fischer, even 21st century Native Americans have no moral right to what little land they still have: "Many of the tribal reservations today remain mired in poverty and alcoholism because many native Americans continue to cling to the darkness of indigenous superstition instead of coming into the light of Christianity and assimilating into Christian culture."
NOTE: Despite Bryan Fischer's incessant onslaught of racism and vile naked Christianist bigotry, his American Family Association radio show remains a popular destination for potential 2012 GOP presidential candidates. http://joemygod.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just like attempts to pin the Crucifixion on Jews, holding modern people responsible for what happened 150 years ago is reprehensible. So Christian Native Americans are ALSO unfit to lead? THIS Christian calls that HOGWASH.

Our good father in Washington--for I presume he is now our father as well as yours, since King George has moved his boundaries further north--our great and good father, I say, sends us word that if we do as he desires he will protect us. His brave warriors will be to us a bristling wall of strength, and his wonderful ships of war will fill our harbors, so that our ancient enemies far to the northward -- the Haidas and Tsimshians -- will cease to frighten our women, children, and old men. Then in reality he will be our father and we his children. But can that ever be? Your God is not our God! Your God loves your people and hates mine! He folds his strong protecting arms lovingly about the paleface and leads him by the hand as a father leads an infant son. But, He has forsaken His Red children, if they really are His. Our God, the Great Spirit, seems also to have forsaken us. Your God makes your people wax stronger every day. Soon they will fill all the land. Our people are ebbing away like a rapidly receding tide that will never return. The white man's God cannot love our people or He would protect them. They seem to be orphans who can look nowhere for help. How then can we be brothers? How can your God become our God and renew our prosperity and awaken in us dreams of returning greatness? If we have a common Heavenly Father He must be partial, for He came to His paleface children. We never saw Him. He gave you laws but had no word for His red children whose teeming multitudes once filled this vast continent as stars fill the firmament. No; we are two distinct races with separate origins and separate destinies. There is little in common between us.
Excerpt of Chief Seattle's reply to a Government offer to purchase the remaining Salish lands.
(I know, I know, there's a controversy surrounding the validity of the speech. Even so, it's still pretty damn good even if it was embellished by some pale face)

I haven’t been to church in years, but if I recall correctly the Jews were responsible for the crucifixion. There was also an episode of South Park that verifies this.

While I understand that your Eric Cartman reference indicates that you're being somewhat facetious, SD, one has to understand that what happened back then was result of rabble-rousing on the part of the Jewish leaders OF THAT TIME. In addition, the acutal work was carried out by the Romans. No connection to modern Jews, contrary to popular opinion.
Of course, SH is ilkely missing SD's humourous point for the zillionth time.

Going to go out on a limb here and say that I wasted my time clicking on this thread.
Non-issue. (Except to Jon, of course)

And you just wasted our time with your post.
I googled AFA to find out some more information about the group. Here's a couple of tidbits:
Funding: From 1998 to 2003, the AFA received $90,000 from 6 grants contributed by the Bill and Berniece Grewcock Foundation
•The AFA participates in Pornography Awareness Week.

This would be less of an issue if the following wasn't occuring:
Fischer’s program, “Focal Point,” reaches about two million listeners and has featured guest appearances from a number of prominent Republicans such as Indiana Rep. Mike Pence, South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, and Mike Huckabee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who on Wednesday told Fischer he would be in favor of reinstating Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
GOP Presidential hopefuls go on his show...

Are you suggesting that either these people shouldn't have the right to vote because you don't agree with them, or that candidates shouldn't try to reach out to people that might vote for them?

You'd think being associated with a Bernice Grewcock funded organization would be a feather in any Republican hopeful's cap.

...ergo, GOP Presidential hopefuls are loonie, and since these examples provided oppose same-sex marriage and homosexuality, Jon becomes righteous.
Perfection achieved.

Shit, Obama was a MEMBER of a church who's leader said all kinds of crazy things and he wasn't viewed as "associated with" the pastor by his backers. Now a candidate goes on a radio show and they are?

gonna step up and defend the goper candidates from the perspective of a campaign manager...
someone tells me "we want to interview your presidential hopeful... our network has a daily audience of 2 million mostly evangelical opinion leaders in their social circles (alpha consumers)"
if i'm running a goper for president, wild horses couldn't keep me away.
sure the host says provocative things... he's a talk radio host... whatever... it's his AUDIENCE I'm after.

At what amount of time do a person or group’s past actions become forgivable/irrelevant? And the South Park line was just so someone doesn’t try to put the anti-Semite label on me, the last thing I want to do is lose an in with some good accountants.

So again, non-issue. These idiots aren't exactly knocking your door down.

Miller took his name from grounding wheat. Gardner raised vegetables. Where did Grewcock come from? The American Family Association...porn aware, funded by growing cock.
I know if you have to explain it probably wasn't funny in the first place. So I apologize to you, Mr. Funny, for attempting to point out juvenile humor on cs.com. Oh the humanity.

I really don't see many groups doing anything to help the Nataive American, except the one's that have casino's on their reservations. There it's people that want a slice of the pie. America as a whole should be ashamed the way the Native American is still treated
