Another Democrat senator retires. I am looking forward to this election.

not just dems, two GOP senators have also announced their not seeking re-election in 2012.

Sorry to see the guy go. One of the few politicians with real integrity.

Opposed to him on many issues, but still a good man and a good Senator.

I admit he wasn't too bad for a Democrat. There was some things I liked about him.

Yep. He'd be an asset to the nation even if he were a honk.

He IS a conservative in many respects.

He's a conservative, but not by today's definition - superstitious, incoherent, barking-mad, politico-religious ideologue. He's also not a bad argument against term limits.
