UOP has announced former Mexico President Vicente Fox as this year's commencement speaker. That's certain to generate talk locally, if not nationally.

Um...
A few things here Cheese Dip
First: Vicente Fox is about as irrelevant as they get
Second: The University of Pacific, which to this point in my life I'd never even heard of is not exactly the bastion of Political dissent and global critical discourse...
I believe you are dramatically over stating the importance of this event and that speaker at that location
Created in 1982 by the students and faculty of Pacific University's Politics and Law Forum, the Tom McCall Forum has become the premier public affairs event in the Northwest, drawing national political figures each year to Portland for a spirited debate between a liberal and a conservative of national interest. Previous debaters have included Pat Buchanan, Tom Daschle, Howard Dean, Richard Perle, Molly Ivins, William Kristol, Bill Bradley, David Gergen, Ralph Nader, Newt Gingrich, Ralph Reed, Alan Dershowitz, James Carville, Mary Matalin, William Safire, John Sununu, Pierre Salinger, Robert Bork, Jesse Jackson, Mario Cuomo, and Dan Quayle.

I can't speak for Cleets, but what makes you think I didn't know the difference? You were discussing guest speakers. Pacific U's list trumps Fox.SuperHornet wrote:Kalm just fell into the trap.
Pacific University ≠ University of the Pacific.
UOP is a D-I AAA school in Stockton, CA with a long history of football. The mascot is the Tigers. UOP is famous for jazz musician Dave Brubeck, football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg, and football players-turned-coaches Eddie LeBaron, Pete Carroll, Tom Flores, and Hue Jackson (the current HC of the Oakland Raiders). Running back Dick Bass and Raiders Specila Teams Coordinator John Fassel also played for UOP. Academically, UOP has well-known pharmacy, engineering and business schools on the main Stockton campus, as well as a good dental school (SF campus) and law school (Sacramento campus). Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is a Constitutional Law professor at UOP's McGeorge School of Law.
Pacific University is a D-III school in Forest Grove, OR that just revived football. The mascot is the Boxers.
Pacific U has a history of getting congratulatory calls when UOP makes the D-I NCAA Tournament for boys hoops. UOP recently got congratulatory calls when Pacific U started football.

Or is "Kapish" another of your Neo-nazi words meaning, "Jews make good soap".
