Gay man stoned to death by nutjob Christian:

A 28-year-old Upper Darby man has been charged with murder after telling police that he stoned a 70-year-old man to death when the man made homosexual advances toward him, authorities say.
John Joe Thomas, 28, of Sunshine Road in Upper Darby, spent almost every day with 70-year-old Murray Seidman at Seidman’s Lansdowne home, police say. Days before Seidman’s body was found on Jan. 12, Thomas allegedly beat Seidman to death with a sock full of rocks.
Thomas told authorities that he read in the Old Testament that homosexuals should be stoned to death. When Seidman allegedly made homosexual advances toward him over a period of time, Thomas said he received a message in his prayers that he must end Seidman’s life, according to court documents.

I think it's long past over due to get some newer books with some new rules

I suppose we'll never know but I suspect the guy was a gold digger. I suspect him being beneficiary in the victim's will had more to do with it than him reading the Bible did. It's pretty weird for a 28 year old guy to be spending "almost every day" with a 70 year old guy . If the victim was really a homosexual I suspect the young guy was exploiting the old guy's homosexual attraction to him for financial purposes.

I'm pretty sure that if everything was the same in this scenario except that the killer was Muslim and cited the Koran for killing the guy I would have the same suspiscion.
The 28 year old guy had somehow managed to become the sole executor of the victim's will and also was a beneficiary in it. He had been spending a bunch of time with the guy. It looks to me like there was a lot more to this story than a guy just deciding to kill somebody because the Bible said they should kill homosexuals.
Now, if you can find a case that's like this in which I had a different outlook when the killer was Muslim then you've got me. But I don't think you're going to find one. This was not a situation in which someone just blew themselves up in the middle of a bunch of people they didn't even know or walked into a train station and started shooting people in uniform.
I really don't think it's the "same thing."

If I were an investigator in this case, I would be looking for a motive other than religion (because the defense will certainly use that as part of their argument for an insanity case).
Money is a very strong motive in murder cases in a country that is run by it.

All I'm saying is - we don't know sh!t about this case other than a few tid-bits and we're ready to excuse the Old Testament stoning as "something else"
We see other crimes we don't know sh!t about...
And if it's got an Islamic guy we've already decided everything we need to know
Psychologically we find what we're already looking for...

Oh no, I am absolutely sure that there are nut jobs out there who will hear the Old testament version of God speaking to them in the middle of the night (with a King James dialect, no doubt).
I'm just saying that there is an even bigger smoking gun in this case that involves money. Given that I think greedy bastards WAY outweigh the religious nuts in ANY country, I'd say the smart money is on homeboy knocking off the old fag for his dough.
The "God told me to do it" story is an insanity plea.
