another unconstitutional act of violence...

Post by catamount man »

...shown by the United States toward a country that has never attacked American soil, Libya. 48 innocent people DEAD.

Why is the MSM glorifying this? Where are the anti-war peace loving liberals?

President Obama should be impeached and tried for war crimes against humanity. Obama=Bush=Clinton=Bush=Reagan and so on.

Sad. :ohno:

Do these words carry any meaning- "Pan Am flight 103, Lockerbie, Scotland?"

What we are doing in Libya now is in no way connected to Pan Am 103. Any attempt to create a linkage only makes you look foolish.

Yes, and the people who thought Obama was nothing like his predecessors were naive. One person can't change the way Washington works and the way America does operates its foreign policy. Well, maybe one person could but he or she was probably aborted or died in a senseless war.

Agreed, but any attempt to portray the intervention in Libya as the USA attacking an innocent nation is even more foolish. BTW, The USA should have taken Qadaffi out after that terrorist attack back in the 1980's.

Arab League criticizes Western strikes on Libya

CAIRO - The Arab League on Sunday criticized Western military strikes on Libya, a week after urging the United Nations to slap a no-fly zone on the oil-rich North African state.

"What has happened in Libya differs from the goal of imposing a no-fly zone and what we want is the protection of civilians and not bombing other civilians," Arab League secretary general Amr Mussa told reporters.

On March 12, the Arab League urged the United Nations to impose a no-fly zone on Libya and said Moammar Gadhafi’s regime had "lost legitimacy" as it sought to snuff out a rebellion designed to oust him from power.

US approved $40 billion in 2009 private arms sales

WASHINGTON — The U.S. government approved $40 billion in worldwide private arms sales in 2009, including more than $7 billion to Mideast and North African nations that are struggling with political upheaval, the State Department reported.

From 2008 to 2009, the U.S. authorized increasing sales of military shipments to the now-toppled Egyptian government of Hosni Mubarak and the embattled kingdom of Bahrain. But the U.S. reduced its defense sales approvals in 2009 to Moammar Gadhafi’s Libyan government, which is now under a blanket weapons ban imposed last month by the Obama administration.

The $40 billion figure during the first year of the Obama administration reflects a rise in total approved arms sales over the final year of the Bush administration in 2008, when the State Department licensed $34.2 billion.

There are plenty of non-innocent nations we have attacked in the past and been pilloried for it.

By the way, we HAVE attacked Libya before. In fact, I recall France refusing us permission to overfly their territory from Britain, which contributed to the loss of one of our F-111s along with the crew. I think France should be carrying the water on this one, if for no other reason than that.

We did try to take him out int he 80's. Reagan had his tent bombed and killed one of his kids. Anyway, if we decide to attack every nation that is not innocent, we'll be at war with the entire world. We were goaded into this by Britain and France who manipulated a weak ass president into continuing a costly and senseless interventionist foreign policy.

It's a Democrat's wet dream!

Hey, TTBF...are you working on the spin? How's the "Iran wants Bahrain as a province" thing going?
