It's not official yet, but your favorite Sarah-wannabe (and second-favorite Republican bash-ee) may be forming a committee to explore the idea of running for President.

Best news I have had all day.
Every time Bachmann speaks, another Democratic voter emerges.

Bachmann does a great job as a Congresswoman and serves an important pupose as a voice for oft-ignored issues.
But I was hoping that her recent gaffe in telling a group of New Hampshire conservatives that "“You’re the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord...” would dissuade her from filing for President.
Bachmann is not Presidential material. I like her just where she is at.

I wonder if she would hide everything from her past if the media would let her get away with it?

actually, she's fucking worthless member of congress...
there are plenty of conks that i don't like, nor agree with who are scary right wing, but still manage to make effective members of congress... bachmann is not one of them.
her office is completely incapable of handling even the simplest of constituent service requests and exists entirely to stroke her ego and feed her insane and rambling ambitions. and no, that "isn't like the rest of congress" her's is on a level rarely achieved.
seriously, the people of her district have to turn to other congress people, or (which has happened) flood the offices of their two senators with requests - because her office is either incapable, or unwilling to do the most basic things required of it.

Sets just fine, Appy. San Fran can have Pelosi.
Pelosi does not bother me so much as long as she's not the Speaker. Like Bachmann for the Dems, Pelosi generates enthusiasm for the Repubs. Unlike the Democrats, however, the Republicans are not stooooopid enough to make their own dingbat Speaker of the House.
Of course, if you don't think this is a significant difference...

Interesting. I trust that you are telling the truth as you see it, ttbf.
What non-partisan organizations rate Congress persons in terms of constituent services? Could you refer us to some web sites?

there really isn't one... which is kind of unfortunate... what you are left with is anecdotes... what i've found in my career is that you can find conks who say nice things about constituent services provided by donk congresspeople and vice versa frequently. especially when they've been around for awhile (especially here in mn, where the other 7 members... well, before 2010 anyway... were pretty good, regardless of party)
with MB all we ever heard, were people of both persuasions talking about how useless she was. we had a lot of support from frustrated Repubs over both her nonsensical spoutings, but more often over her ineffectiveness as a member of congress.

My 3 federal officials:
Sen. Tom Harkin (D) - chickenshit doesn't go around and visit his constituents. I've never seen the man in person. However he has a top notch staff. The best I've ever dealt with as far as being responsive.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (D) - Visits all 99 counties in Iowa every year. Was at his town hall meeting in my county on Monday. His staff sucks.
Rep. Tom Latham (R) - Visits every county in his district every year. Was at his town hall meeting in my county a few months ago. His staff is fairly responsive. His staffers also visit the county seat towns for a listening post at least once a month. Usually nobody shows up but at least you can talk to someone face to face if you need to.

Well, thank God we have native and fox news to make it appear as though she's in anyway competent or useful.

I think that for entertainment value, it would be hard to top a Palin/Gingrich family values ticket.
