NEW YORK (AP) -- Fox News Channel on Wednesday said it was dropping Glenn Beck's afternoon talk show, which has sunk in the ratings and suffered financially due to an advertiser boycott.

Fox and Beck said the show will end later this year.

Funny!!!!

His show just isn't good. I don't have any reason to believe the things he said about history were false, but the show is just boring to watch.

I actually like how Beck formates his show. I like the chalk boards, etc. He's just an idiot though.

shit - most of the posters in the lounge are more qualified to speak on history...

I'm generally pretty impressed with the historical knowledge (even if it's skewed) on this board from all sides... (even citdog, who may be wrong about the civil war, but knows a hell of a lot about it)

(except for alpha, he's always full of shit)

I saw Beck when he was on CNN, and he just doesn't appeal to me.

He's like Rush: I might agree with them on some levels, but their tack just doesn't agree with me so I don't watch/listen.

I'll be honest though, I used to listen occasionally to Radio Free America with that Rhoades chick, and Rush is definitely more entertaining. (Which isn't saying much)

I used to love Rush when it was only a radio show back when Clinton was president (remember that)
I recall my love affair started with an episode where he was debating environmental restrictions and Clinton policy and he said - my hand to god I swear this - He sad there are more trees today in North America than when Christopher Columbus landed his ship in Florida...

Now of course that's funny on about 15 different levels - but - two come right to mind immediately
1) Columbus never landed in North America (ever) 8th grade history covers that one
2) Even Weyerhaeuser admits they've vastly over logged and are needing to implement new recovery practices

From that point forward I knew I was on to something special... Rush never disappoints
