Seriously, how screwed up is it that some corporations get hit with the most burdensome corporate taxes in the world and others don't pay a dime in taxes?

PF on US corporate tax rates: they will be the highest in the world if Japan decides to go through with planned corporate tax cuts.

If the U.S. lowered the rate and eliminated the tax shelters at the same time, we'd solve the G.E. problem (and similarly situated companies) and increase corporate tax receipts at the same time. Same concept for individuals: lower rates, fewer deductions. It's a very old idea, but one that deserves a shot.

Eliminate all income taxes on both corporations and individuals, which would turn the world's biggest economy into the world's biggest tax haven and open the doors for an unprecendented flow of money and investment.

Yup, make the rate lower (and much lower) and make the whole thing simpler and it would work. Too high and too complicated right now.
