The Nazis at least had the presence of mind to realize they had:

1- lost the war
2- fokked up severly by losing as they could not hide their atrocities & there would be hell to pay

Confederates are still playing "what if" scenarios while writing a check or, more to the truth, collecting welfare from the same entity they claim to despise....
