Algore & IPCC Punked at UN Global Warming Conference

My favorite quotes from the conference.

“Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” - Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh.

“The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds.” - Award-winning Paleontologist Dr. Eduardo Tonni, of the Committee for Scientific Research in Buenos Aires and head of the Paleontology Department at the University of La Plata. # #

POZNAN, Poland - The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

More Conk crap designed to give faint hope of anything remotely positive to Conks crushed by the general election results.

And, I remind you, Cap'n Cat is NOT a global warming guy. I believe we're in the throes of a natural cycle and on our way to a new Ice Age in a few thousand years.

Don't like polluted air, don't like polluted soil, don't like polluted water, and we should curtail some of the really heavy stuff, but the Earth is pretty resilient.

This has nothing to do with conk/donk. And everything to do with what a moron AlGore is. Don't make it political, because it's not. :) ;)

AZ is right, this is NOT political. Al Gore is just a tool that thinks that what he says is the absolute truth, when in fact he is nothing but a stain on a diaper.

I think we can all agree on that. We need to use common sense when dealing with these problems, not hysteria and fear. Unfortunately algore is a dumbass with NO common sense.

Absolutely...I own a hybrid car...have parked my F-150 for all but hauling stuff...recycle...use energy efficient bulbs...

It's smart to clean up, and not pollute...and to save energy...doesn't change my economic and constitutional view of the world...

Cap, you are right on target about it being a natural cycle, IMHO...

I so love watching SE get his ass kicked on these issues while he tries to lick his wounds with stupicd comments about the republican party trying to hold on and stay relevant with this issue. I didn't see the republicans endorsing this as a party but that's his reality apparently. The guy throws out logic and reason and runs on his emotion so badly that I really get a good chuckle out of it.

Global warming theory collapsing...how inconvenient...

...for only the second time in recorded history...it snowed in the UAE...

Image
RAS AL KHAIMAH // Snow covered the Jebel Jais area for only the second time in recorded history yesterday.

So rare was the event that one lifelong resident said the local dialect had no word for it.

According to the RAK Government, temperatures on Jebel Jais dropped to -3°C on Friday night. On Saturday, the area had reached 1°C.

Major Saeed Rashid al Yamahi, a helicopter pilot and the manager of the Air Wing of RAK Police, said the snow covered an area of five kilometres and was 10cm deep.

“The sight up there this morning was totally unbelievable, with the snow-capped mountain and the entire area covered with fresh, dazzling white snow,” Major al Yamahi said.

“The snowfall started at 3pm Friday, and heavy snowing began at 8pm and continued till midnight, covering the entire area in a thick blanket of snow. Much of the snow was still there even when we flew back from the mountain this afternoon. It is still freezing cold up there and there are chances that it might snow again tonight.”

Aisha al Hebsy, a woman in her 50s who has lived in the mountains near Jebel Jais all her life, said snowfall in the area was so unheard of the local dialect does not even have a word for it. Hail is known as bared, which literally translates as cold. “Twenty years ago we had lots of hail,” said Ms al Hebsy. “Last night was like this. At four in the morning we came out and the ground was white.”

Jebel Jais was dusted in snow on Dec 28, 2004, the first snowfall in living memory for Ras al Khaimah residents.
...and Greenland's glaciers returning to normal...

Gotta keep up T-man. It's not global warming anymore. It's climate change. That way they keep all their bases covered no matter what it does.

Now go buy 300 carbon credits from algore as your penance.

Actually, this is a predicted side effect of the warm globe - destabilized weather patterns.

Of course, any single event means absolutely nothing long term/

Just keep denying - you will likely be gone by the time the real shit hits the fan, but your future grandkids aren't going to be so lucky.

Hey what could a little coal farting, diesel engine gassing, plastic bottle trash burning, and bovine flatulence possibly do to foul our air?? :?

Anybody remember living in a dorm room, or making long bus trips with team mates eating McDonald's and chicken fried steaks with that yellow gravy at JBs ?? 8-)

The more the merrier, pass the peanut butter, and damn the torpedoes! :D

Snow, cold, and storms are all part of global warming. The fact it is cold as fuck in the upper midwest the last month is because of global warming.

I'm not denying the climate is changing. It's the man-made part I have a problem with. I also have a HUGE problem with the liar algore making money off the fools that subscribe to his religion.

If anybody wants to relieve some guilt I have about 4000 carbon credits to sell at work from the wind energy we buy. You can remove the guilt for $3.00 each.

It's hard not to be right when you say things like "The world is going to get so hot that it won't be able to sustain life, and if it gets cold it is only because the Earth getting warmer."

I'll just add this to my list of Arizonian bets...

...if I'm correct...and it's NOT anthropogenic, you'll dance on a table at Biersch's and sing "I'm a little teapot..." pointing to your groin during the stanza "...here is my spout..."
