Israeli Defense Force crosses into Gaza and widens the War. Yahweh will, as he always does and promised to do, give us the victory over the agents of oppression and degredation. WE MAKE WAR UPON MEN. HAMAS HIDES BEHIND THE SKIRTS OF THEIR WOMEN. GOD DEFEND THE RIGHT!

Dunno, Citdog, didn't you hear what the Hamas spokesman said today...
"Gaza will not be paved with flowers for you, it will be paved with fire and hell," Hamas warned Israeli forces. Spokesman Ismail Radwan said in a televised speech Gaza will "become a graveyard" for Israeli soldiers.
A text message sent by Hamas' military wing, Izzedine al-Qassam, said "the Zionists started approaching the trap which our fighters prepared for them." Hamas said it also broadcast a Hebrew message on Israeli military radio frequencies promising to kill and kidnap the Israeli soldiers.
"Be prepared for a unique surprise, you will be either killed or kidnapped and will suffer mental illness from the horrors we will show you," the message said.
Yup! I hear it's gonna be the "mother of all wars".
...sad that Hamas would believe they're going to win this. Will just end up being a huge massacre with thousands of Palestinian women and children left widowed and orphaned...until the children grow up and this cycle is repeated again in another 15-20 years. The IDF will wipe the Gaza strip clean of jihadists, and after another 3-7 year peace process, the Gazan's will have their sovereignty returned, less infrastructure and essential services, only to be rebuilt and destroyed all over again.

Does anybody else wonder what's going on with Obama? No comment on this yet? He's going to be dealing with this in 2 weeks and he doesn't have anything to say?

Actually, I'm quite pleased we've heard nothing...
He's sticking to his word that there is only one president at a time...his time hasn't come yet...
One can assume that since he's said nothing, what he's thinking is a bit different than the current president, and he doesn't want to send mixed signals...
Good for him...

I hope he tells them both to let him know when they're ready to talk and ignores them until they are while cutting back on aid to both sides..

I can understand that. However does his silence lead to more death and destruction? Is Israel saying we will no longer have a friend so we will do whatever it takes while we can? Does Hamas think they only have to hold on until Obama takes office?

I don't think it means anything more than both sides trying to improve their position during a transitional period.

No. I think Hamas continued launching of rockets into Israel will lead to more death and destruction...

Exactly...If Hamas stops...not bullsh!t stops for a day, but S-T-O-P-S rocketing southern Israel...then the IDF would stop and pull out...
It is not in Israel's best interests to occupy Gaza...it is in their best interests to stop the rockets and morters from raining down on their citizens...

Why would he want to undercut Bush's excuse for a foreign policy?

Good point HD.
In addition, it makes sense for him to be quiet. It's one thing to discuss domestic issues before he's in...it affects only us. Plus, Bush has probably told him, "I got nothing." In respect to foreign policy, that is on the world stage in a much different way. He also, is no longer a representive of the US Government. He has resigned his Senate seat and has not been sworn in as president. So, any commenting, or trying to influence, foreign policy at this point is not smart, it is wrong.
