Gotta agree with her on the Caroline Kennedy....CK seems just as "smart" as Palin....but I still think Palin is a joke....and her continued desire to stay in the media spotlight smacks of desperation.....she's so folksy...

Yes, they are in ways equals, sans Palin's loud, scathing attack mode she displayed immediately upon arriving on the world stage. Kennedy has shown no such behavior.

Palin came out smugly swinging at anything that appeared to be against her personal opinion, and now is bawling and crying about being punched in the nose.

Palin - bounced around several community colleges before getting a B.A. in Journalism from lowly Idaho. Believes in witchcraft and demons and attends a pentecostal church. Elected governor of a state with less than 600,000 people and recieves all it revenue from one source, oil. My cat could get elected there if she were a republican and hated gays and taxes.

Kennedy - She graduated from Concord Academy in Massachusetts in 1975,[11] and received her A.B. from Radcliffe College[12] at Harvard University in 1979. She earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1988, graduating in the top ten percent of her class, several weeks before giving birth to her first child.[13] Kennedy is an attorney, writer, editor and serves on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.

From 2002 through 2004, Kennedy worked as director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the the New York City Department of Education. The three-day-a-week job paid her a salary of $1 and had the goal of raising private money for the New York City public schools.[21] In that capacity, she helped raise more than $65 million for the city’s public schools.[22][3] She currently serves as one of two vice chairs of the board of directors of The Fund for Public Schools, a public-private partnership founded in 2002 to attract private funding for public schools in New York City.[23] According to The Politico, her children attended "one of Manhattan’s most exclusive private schools."[24] She has also served on the board of trustees of Concord Academy, which she attended as a child.[25]

Kennedy and other members of her family created the Profiles in Courage Award in 1989. The award is given to a public official or officials at the federal, state or local level whose actions best demonstrate the qualities of politically courageous leadership in the spirit of John F. Kennedy's book, Profiles in Courage.[26] In addition, Kennedy is currently president of the Kennedy Library Foundation.[3] She is also an adviser to the Harvard Institute of Politics, a living memorial to her father.

She is a member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bar associations. She is also a member of the boards of directors of the Commission on Presidential Debates and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and is an honorary chair of the American Ballet Theatre.[26]

Kennedy has represented her family at the funeral services of former Presidents Ronald Reagan in 2004 and Gerald Ford in 2007, and at the funeral service of former First Lady Lady Bird Johnson in 2007. She also represented her family at the dedication of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park in Little Rock, Arkansas in November 2004.

Just sick of dumb people in office. People who graduated at the bottom of their class (McPalin and Dubya). I don't care where anyone comes from, as long as they're smart.

Typical conk, choosing "folksy" over intelligence.

It actually had nothing to do with the "folksy" part. But to ASSume that just because she graduated from Idaho, wasn't born into a rich family, and couldn't afford to go to law school that she's somehow unfit to serve her country is a piss poor assumption. I'm tired of America's belief (apparently) that if you don't have an Ivy league education you aren't fit to run the country.

You can make fun of her all you want, D. But look at it this way: She actually got ELECTED. Not appointed.

Do the donks want a fcuking Kennedy as president so bad that they'd go THIS route?    Ya'll we probably crying in your beer when JFK Jr's plane spiraled into the ocean.

Silver Spoon aside, the woman worked for $1 a day helping people. Her academic qualifications are far superior than Palins. It's obvious. Z is nothing but a conk contrarian and is still bitter about getting his ass, prognostications, beliefs and values utterly demolished in the last election.

A little research into Kennedy's background should make you think twice bout equating her with a low life like Palin.

No shit, sherlock! If I had a fcuking trust fund the size of Montana, I'D be able to benevolently work for $1 a day and look like the fckuing Dali Llama himself.

Kennedy is more impressive in some respects....all I'm saying is without the name, her qualifications to be appointed, not voted, into the Senate is about as spectacualr as Palin's qualifications on foreign policy....

Give me CK any day over some hypocritical Bible-humping nobody from Siberia. No ghosts in CK's space, no witchcraft sh*t, no teenage pregnancy sh*t.

And, as far as Palin being beat up by the press, she can get fvcked. Bitch drops from some Hale-Bopp comet worshippin'-ass cult and expects no one to dig into ther sh*t? Holy naivete, ConkLanders!

And, regardless, it's a tempest in a teapot compared to the Hell that Hillary Clinton went through, '91 to now.

Actually, one could argue that her name and family are a detriment. She's getting raked over the coals right now. Unlike Palin, she's handling it with grace and intelligence.

We'll have to agree to disagree on her qualifications, which IMO are far superior than Palins. Palin has never left the united states and thinks russia is out her balcony in the meth capital of Alaska. Kennedy has interacted with dignitaries from all over the world, she's traveled extensivley throught the world and graduated top ten from an Ivy League Law School. SMFH

Yeah. Being named Kennedy as SURELY a detriment. I feel so SORRY for her and all that she has to struggle with.... As Appaholic pointed out, if her name WASN'T Kennedy she'd be greeting people at Walmart, not getting summarily appointed to the fcukin' US SENATE. And remember, she did all those wonderful things BECAUSE she's a Kennedy, and BECAUSE she had (has) a silver spoon in her mouth since she was BORN.

So are Bush's. Guess he's up there with Kennedy, he held elected office. Sign him up for lifetime appointed Senator of NY. Neither Palin or Kennedy were/ are qualified for their potential positions (that's not saying many who get elected are, but they are elected) and hopefully she will have the same outcome.

Palin was useless, and a joke. To me so is the idea of appointing Caroline Kennedy. The party "of the poor" believes only the rich can save the poor. That's quite odd to me.

You're so full of shit. Have you ever heard McCain's life story!!??? He was worse than Dubya as far as cultivating family connections. The idiot crashed 12 planes!!!!

Palin is a hard worker but so is Kennedy. You think she was handed a top ten in her ivy league law school class? She could have sat on her rich ass and done nothing. She just as hard a worker as Palin is.

Again, I don't care what an individual's background is, as long as they're smart. It's glaringly obvious that Palin is of average to low intelligence, as are most Idaho grads. If I want a fence put in my yard, then I may pick palin.

Don't you think it's time for the republican party to begin supporting intelligent people and not movie stars, preachers and gimmicks?

Silver Spoon aside, the woman worked for $1 a day helping people. Her academic qualifications are far superior than Palins. It's obvious. Z is nothing but a conk contrarian and is still bitter about getting his ass, prognostications, beliefs and values utterly demolished in the last election.

A little research into Kennedy's background should make you think twice bout equating her with a low life like Palin.

Why? What do you know about her? Her name holds alot of clout. If I were a NYer I would be giddy as hell to have her.

Yeah, keep looking down your nose from your elitist ivory towers at those who actually had to WORK to make something of themselves.
......the fvcker said, wheeling his gold-trimmed, '09 Cadillac Escalade into Chez Elegante' for lunch with the CEO crowd, wretching and scowling at the thought of turning his keys over to some spic valet kid, wondering if he'd ever see his lovely 6 MPG vehicle again.
