Holy crap, guys! Babe Didrickson has been dead since 1956. I'm not about to vote for a dead person.

I voted for Sarah Palin, fools!

Because men are idiots by definition.

And, yes, I include myself in that.

It makes no difference, all our electoral votes are going blue. SH could vote for Jesus Christ and it wouldn't make a difference.

BTW SH, how did you vote on the props? I went no on both.

You know the annoying thing about that? If there is a registered write-in for a race then the elections administrator has to look at and record every single write-in for that race. That means every time a ballot is counted with a stupid pointless write-in like SH's it has to be recorded by hand.

Slows the counting process down considerably. As someone that runs a ballot counting machine on election day, I offer a hearty fuck-off to SH and anyone else that does a stupid write-in thinking they are funny or clever.

Only if they are officially registered write-in candidates.

Re: Off to Vote....

Crap! I just lost my post. Suffice it to say that I was FAR from the only write-in vote. In my county alone, there were over 800 REPUBLICAN write-ins and nearly 3000 DEMOCRATIC write-ins (not to mention the other parties) for President alone. There were also numerous write-ins for lesser offices. So I was FAR from the only write-in vote.

As far as President went, the expected happened. Unlike other states, President Obama won unopposed, garnering 90.56% in my county. Mitt Romney picked up 79.6% of the GOP vote statewide, 77.28% vote in my county. Roseanne Barr failed to win the Green nomination in CA; she fell about 9% short statewide. Somehow, Barr actually won my county, I'm embarrassed to report.

Dianne Feinstein will face off with GOP Elizabeth Emken for the open CA Senate seat. Given the wide disparity in the primary voting (nearly 50% for Feinstein and only 12% for Emken), it appears that SF and LA will carry the day for Feinstein in November.

The two ballot measures went in opposite directions, both bad IMO. The new tweak on term limits which raises the total time (from 12 years to 14) allowed but provides that all of it can be in one house of the Legislature passed with 61% of the vote. The attempt to raise cigarrette taxes failed in a VERY close vote that came down to less than a percentage point. Apparently, the idea raised in TV advertising that there may not be a guarantee that the $$ raised would stay in CA got to voters despite the fact that the massive anti-proposition media blitz was backed by millions from tobacco companies.

Our House district race (CA-9) will be pretty interesting. Despite the open primary danger that we'd have two members of the same party in November, that will not happen in THIS race. Incumbent Democrat Jerry McNerney (who by all accounts has done a pretty good if quiet job in Washington) led the way with 48%; he will face off with well-financed GOP challenger Ricky Gill, who earned about 40%.

About the only other race of interest is the re-drawn Assembly District 9, where incoming Democrat Dr. Richard Pan (a pediatrician) will face former US Marshal Tony Amador of the GOP, ostensibly from my home town. In reality, however, Amador is a carpetbagger who moved to Lodi for the sole purpose of running for office; he has no true connection here. He has been an utter failure, having blown it in elections for the House and City Council. I'm not a fan of Dr. Pan, but he'll win easily.

That's why I voted no. We have a $16B deficit and not 1 penny of the new tax would have went to address that short fall.
