Very sad, glad he was able to take out so many bad guys before he passed.

Since Alpha already made it political - So he was at gun range, meaning was he was presumably armed & yet he was still taken out by a deranged gunman. I thought as long as everyone was packing, nothing bad would ever happen to them?

We had dinner with some friends last night, and the husband is a gun enthusiast. He carries a side-arm everywhere it's legal, and is in the process of applying for the sherriff's academy.

I haven't hunted since I was in my early 20's but my mom still has all of our guns and my boys are really interested in learning about them. So my buddy offered to help me get back into it, acquire a case, clean the guns and get them in working order, ammo, the whole nine yards and eventually take us shooting and provide instruction.

The quickest way to lose your rights in this Alphie is to come off as a wacko and get all of the reasoned people on the side of the nanny state and against you. You need as many people in favor of 2nd amendment rights on your side as possible...including liberals.

You're not doing gun rights any favors with this.

Looks like the shooter was a Marine. Looks like a family feud and the Marines won.

The SEAL and a friend took the Marine, who suffered from diagnosed PTSD after tours in Iraq and Haiti, to the range as a means of comeraderie and trying to help him normalize his life. Unfortunately, something snapped and he shot both of them. He left in the SEAL's truck, which they had driven to the range together, the Marine went to the house of family members to whom he confessed, and then home. Police arrested him and have the handgun he used to commit the murders.

The whole situation sucks. I wish the Marine had saved the cost of trial, jail, counseling, and a life of regret and simply used one more bullet on himself.

Sidebar: The Army just had its highest number of suicides in 2012; over 300. The current manning levels and operational commitments are destroying a lot of lives. Expect more stories like this in the next few decades.
