Syria...we condemn you for winning

"The White House on Wednesday condemned the assault on the Syrian town of Qusair by Syrian government forces, who worked with Lebanese Hezbollah allies to take control from rebel fighters.

"The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the Assad regime's assault on Qusair, which has killed untold numbers of civilians and is causing tremendous humanitarian suffering," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in statement."

Hmmmm...the assault has killed "untold numbers of civilians." Civilians? Perhaps Assad is using Obama's methodology to identify "civilians". They were in the area...and had contact with the bad guys. Therefor, they are enemy combatants.

No word on whether Carney will condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the Free Syrian Army's repeated violations of human rights.

In other related news, "The Free Syrian Army said they were being massacred in the city, but that its forces were hanging on and engaged in "big battles."'

And Fahad alMasri, a spokesman for the Free Syrian Army, said Assad’s regime was “a big liar.”

“The Hezbollah fighters are trying to enter the south of Al Qusair. There are big battles going on now. They (Syrian forces) are trying to allow Hezbollah to advance by heavy bombing and extreme violence,” he said by phone.

“They have been firing 50 missiles a minute since yesterday. It is a massacre. They have raped women and killed and wounded dozens today,” he added."

Apparently, the FSA spokespeople are shocked that their fighters are being killed in a war. Assad is such a meanie.

Things will get interesting if Assad's forces continue to win more battles with Russian, Iranian, and Hezbollah's help. What will Obushma do?

We'll do nothing except keep moving the red line away from us. With the Russians aggressively providing the Assad regime with air defense weapons as well as other arms we'll stay out. The Russians are trying to protect their only Mediterranean port that Assad has provided them so they'll stay on his side. The Iranians are involved as well which will contribute to us continuing to move the red line. The Brits and the French say the regime has already used sarin gas, but we're apparently going to waffle on whether it's true or not.

I'm in no hurry to get us involved in another mideast quagmire, but you can't just throw out proclamations of red lines that can't be crossed and then fail to respond when they are. :twocents:

It's a tough game to win when you constantly talk out of both sides of your mouth. I'm with you, and stand 100% against McCain and his fanboy Lindsey Graham.

NPR had an excellent summary of the Syrian situation. 34 minutes long, but a really good listen.

The "chemical weapons" lie.. the "red line".. the exact same method used to send our troops into Iraq

The "Free Syria Army" (western backed mercenary army) are in fact the ones lying and staging events.

It is interesting.. when the "rebels" are against us- they are "terrorists" or "combatents" when they are working for us, they are "freedom fighters"..

Bashar Assad isn't doing what NATO orders him to do, and therefore he has to be removed from power.. in this interesting interview, Bashar says: I'm not a Western Puppet, I will Live and die in Syria.

Notice how he is wearing a suit, talking about a democratic process, is programmatic and polite.. and we want to replace this guy with a bunch of Al-Qaeda radical "rebels?" Are we trying to create instability in the region, is that the goal?

The "Free Syria Army" should be called the "NATO mercenary army".. most of them were shipped in from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey and Libya to a fight a battle that is not their own, to get rid of Assad who is one of the last non-puppet leaders in the region.

spandos...you are actually correct on this one in that the Western powers are blowing smoke up our butts regarding reasons to go to war. The rebels may have started out as normal folks, but the whack jobs have taken over on both sides. Hezbollah and AQ are involving themselves, and the leaders of Shiites and Sunnis are saying it is time to settle things. Fun times for everyone!

If Obama gets us more involved in that shvt he needs to be deposed himself.

During the interview, one Syrian lady calls in and is upset that her father had to finally leave Syria (after his money ran out)...and she asked why the Western world, and the US, is allowing this to happen. Listen, sister, when we get involved, our men die and we get blamed by both sides. F that. :tothehand:

Let them solve it themselves.

If the choice is between Assad and a bunch of radical Muslins, I hope both sides lose. Maybe Syria will become a failed state like Somalia. But without the pirates.

Islamists said to execute 15-year-old Syrian boy for heresy

Members of an al Qaeda-linked Islamist group in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo executed a 15-year-old boy in front of his parents on Sunday as punishment for what the group regarded as a heretical comment, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Mohammad Qataa was shot in the face and neck a day after being seized, said the pro-opposition monitoring group, which is based in Britain and uses a network of observers across Syria. "The Observatory cannot ignore these crimes, which only serve the enemies of the revolution and the enemies of humanity," said the group's leader Rami Abdulrahman.

A photo released by the Observatory showed Qataa's face with his mouth and jaw bloodied and destroyed, as well as a bullet wound in his neck. The Observatory, which based its report on witness accounts of the killing, said Qataa, who was a street vendor selling coffee in the working-class Shaar neighborhood, had been arguing with someone when he was overheard saying: "Even if the Prophet Mohammad comes down (from heaven), I will not become a believer."

The thing about these sensationalist stories is- there really isn't any proof. There is a dead child- but do we really know who killed him? Not really- However, western media, hungry to invade Syria and remove Assad is very good at creating "heart string tugging" stories that hit all the emotional hot-keys.. There will be plenty more nonsense stories made up soon.

I'll give it my best shot at the type of lie, sensationalist story the government is pushing to get people to back a Syria invasion-

"Earlier today, a young Muslim girl was brutally killed for not wearing her Burka in Homs. The 13 year old girl, recently attending school was raped by multiple members of Bashar Assad's Syria Army. She cried: "Free Syria!" before her small, lifeless body was crushed under a Syria government tank on Thursday.

The Rebels vowed to never let her life be forgotten, and to remove the brutal dictator Bashar Assad..

Image

It's funny- Americans love to cling to sensationalist stories like this (likely made up) instead of watching what's happening in their own country.. 1,000,000+ people killed by us in the last few years of the "War on Terror" our phones being tapped, Patriot Act, NDAA, FISA Bill.. Cameras being set up at most intersections and on most highways.. and you're worried about what's happening (allegedly) to one person half-way around the World? Get your priorities straight.

Taliban apparently executed a 10-year-old Afghan boy for trying to "steal" food from a garbage can. :ohno:

Taliban militants beheaded two children in southern Afghanistan, a provincial governor's office said.

The beheadings occurred in Kandahar province, the provincial governor's office said Monday.

One of those slain was a 10-year-old boy. The other was age 16.

A press release issued by the office said the militants caught and beheaded the 10-year-old Sunday after he had collected food waste from a trash bin in the area of a security checkpoint.

There were no immediate details about the 16-year-old.

The Taliban has not commented on the report.

"In 2010, nearly 700 Chicago school children were shot and 66 of them died. Last year, Mayor Rahm Emanuel attended a memorial for 260 school children who had been killed in just the previous three years. On several occasions in the past year, tens of people have been shot in a single weekend on the streets of the city. The worst three-day stretch saw 10 killed and 37 wounded in gun fire. But Google the term “Chicago weekend shootings” and the results are far too many deadly weekends to count."

But, but, but... Chicago has the toughest gun control measures in the country. Egad! Are you saying they don't work and that criminals will find a way to get guns and feed on well-meaning, law-abiding citizens who are not allowed to defend themselves? This is an outrage!! Why is the gun control not working?

There is absolutely zero win for the American people- The psychopaths running our country who attend the Bilderberg meetings and Bohemian Grove decided Bashar wasn't puppet enough for them, so they've decided they would remove him from power.

Step 1- they tried using their fake FSA Mercenary army- it didn't work, step 2 send the "rebel" mercenaries advanced weapons.. if that doesn't work- Step 3. Send in some American soldiers to be slaughtered for another pointless war in the Middle East that benefits nobody- and actually destabilizes the entire region.. that's what they want after all though- endless "war on terror" and you can't have a war on terror perpetually if a region is stable.

I'll take that as a compliment I guess.. Correct for all the wrong reasons..

This is total proof our "news" is 100% propaganda working for the military industrial complex to fool the American SHEEPLE into war.. when the U.N. investigators found that it was the REBELS using the Sarin, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND: REUTERS ARTICLE PROVES UN FOUND IT WAS THE "REBELS" USING THE SARIN and the mainstream "news" CNN/ABC/NBC lie to the American people acting like it's for sure the government was using the Sarin, so we should send a whole bunch of weapons to them.

I wonder exactly how many Billion of our tax dollars will be pillaged and used killing Syrians fighting the real terrorists- the mercenary rebels blowing up police stations and using Sarin... WAKE ME UP FROM THIS FRICKIN NIGHTMARE!

and We The People all bend over a little further and go in debt further to the banker class.. this is BULLLLSHIT.

People are often misheard at Bohemian Grove. For instance, at the 1937 camp, Hitler was heard to say "gas the Jews" when in fact he was only asking for a "glass of juice". Then rumors start spreading, concentration camps get built, fanatical Germans start doing crazy shit, and six million Jews later...

If only people would listen.
