You were saying Cleets? Wait, let me guess you're going to try to get out because you think you added a caveat at the end.Chizzang wrote:There are plenty of solid arguments against marijuana legalization

You're still missing the point no matter how much you cherry pick and extract sentences89Hen wrote:You were saying Cleets? You are presently engaged in the AR15 debate (substitute marijuana here)
Marijuana is a drug / whoop-de-fucking-doo
every police chief and patrolman will tell you it is far less dangerous than Alcohol
in its daily effects on society at large
it's also less damaging than prescription drugs on our society
See: the Prescription drug epidemic lawsuits all over America right now
But none of those are as important... it's just another drug (or gun)
we cannot save people from drugs - see prescription pill epidemic

Marijuana is a drug and it has benefits, risks and side effects just like alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, etc. I don't think a nanny state government should be telling adults that they can or can't use marijuana or alcohol.

I don't care either way
you being right or wrong isn't really that important to me
the bigger question would be "wrong about what, exactly..?"
we're discussing opinions not physics

agreed,
but the point is:
drug legalization and gun legalization - they are the same debate
The dangers of a specific drug are entertaining to discuss but irrelevant
the fact is:
If you criminalize drugs only criminals will have drugs (guns)
cartels and gangs and mobs depend on drugs being illegal - its good for business

Re: DOJ Memo on Marijuana Use
If the nebulous "they" could figure out how to legalize drugs without ME having to ultimately pay for those (l)users healthcare costs/living/dying expenses, I'd be perfectly fine with making everything legal. It'd sort out those with a pulse/motivation from those who just want to smoke, shoot up and get high. Course, it would also most likely exacerbate the already widening income gap....Chizzang wrote:AZGrizFan wrote:

Guns are legal (and protected by the 2nd amendment). Bad analogy.Chizzang wrote:who pays for those injured by guns?AZGrizFan wrote:

I find your "healthcare" argument silly when we have prescription drug epidemicAZGrizFan wrote:Guns are legal (and protected by the 2nd amendment). Bad analogy.Chizzang wrote:

prescribed by doctors and PUSHED by drug makers
for fun:
who pays for all the adult onset diabetes ?
brought on by legally consuming sugar at unhealthy levels
there should be a 50% SUGAR tax to pay for adult onset diabetes - and I'm not fucking kidding

The facts are americans are some fat stupid fucks and are killing themselves with sugar by the millions
and the costs are staggering
and charging a FAT TAX is actually the answer
it'll never pass because the majority of Americans are fat or live with a fat fuck
it's bankrupting our healthcare system far more than marijuana
and I don;t see you debating the nuances of the problem
