By cracky I'd better still be getting MY package stimulated!!
(Psssssst appy, they did you a favor, if you just wait another year before looking to buy you will find the market has fallen much further than any tax credit would be worth, and may not yet have found the bottom even then, you will save yourself tens of thousands, and find a lot more to pick from on the market. But don't tell anyone I told you that.)

And remember the Democrats are all about looking out for the little guy that would benefit from the homebuyer credit.

Ummm...
Seems someone's missed the essence of this whole lib-dem/conk-rep debate from the beginning...
Dem's are not there to PUT money in American's pockets, they try to take it away and put in GOVERNMENT'S pockets.
Hence, the obscene amount of "pork" spending to expand and improve government owned, non-infrastructure facilities within the so-called stimulus bill.
More government...
Bigger government...
Increased Nanny government...
Pelosi and Reid should be "run out of town on a rail".
Any Republican who supports this boondoggle should be imprisoned.
Any Democrat who supports this boondoggle should be thrown ouf of office.
P.S. I told you so.

It amazes me this early that someone like Obama, elected by a definite majority and with approval ratings in the 60's (I think) would be lead around by the nose by Pelosi & Ried, who preside over a branch of government that is below 20% approval rating.....he's going to make a nice House Negro.....
And seriously TMan, what did you tell me....remember, I'm the one who voted for a true conservative, not a warmed over Republicrat.....from the party who allowed this mess to happen over the past 8 years....

As opposed to the Reps, who take money from everyone's pocket, and put it into a handful of their own pockets...
At least putting it into the Government's pockets ensures it's use back into America, instead of disapearing into Swiss or Cayman Island bank accounts, or to Saudi arabia

So, we can agree that money taken by Congress, regardless of party affiliation, DOESN'T necessarily ensure it's use back into America?

In that case I don't see any differenct between Dems and Reps. Goverment taking my $100 and filling pockets of lobbyist, and giving the people $.01 worth of value in return, if we are lucky.

Here's some "unbiased" analysis on the Homebuyer Tax Credit from Center on Budget Policy Priorities...
COSTLY ISAKSON HOMEBUYER TAX CREDIT AMENDMENT WOULD BE INEFFECTIVE STIMULUS
An amendment by Senator Isakson that the Senate added to its economic recovery legislation, providing a new $15,000 tax credit for home purchases in the 12 months after enactment,[1] has low bang for the buck as stimulus and is thus a dubious addition to the package.

But wait, apparantly this is the only part of the bill that would've been considered pork by this esteemed organization....
Chad Stone, chief economist at the liberal-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, defended the bill. "The overwhelming bulk of what is in the package is effective and well-designed stimulus," he said.

Glad to see the days of petty Washington partisanship turf battles are a thing of the past. Change we can believe in indeed.......

Gil, that's because, outside of some lifestyle disagreements, there is NO difference between the parties. Anyone who voted for EITHER of the two major parties thinking this would effect change is delusional at best, insane at worst.

I didn't vote for either party because of McCain and Obama's support of the first bailout.

You mean like the Democratic controlled Congress giving the financial companies billions of dollars and not asking where or how it would be spent? Or throwing money at the wind hoping it will help Americans, but no economists saying it will? Sounds a lot like a good way to increase power and servetude all the while ensuring their re-elctions.

It all comes back to Barney Frank, Freddie and Fanny gone wild, when nobody was watching or caring.

Time just released their 25 to blame for the financial crisis. Not one of them was Barney Frank (or any politician) except for Bill Clinton and George Bush. It's amazing to me that Time gives Congress a free pass--especially that douchebag Barney Frank. Time has lost what little credibility it had left.

The ultra liberal Kennedys keep their "change" over in Fiji so it's not just conservatives, wait excuse me, republicans. There IS a difference these days.
