Man, minimum wage is $7.25. I don't know of many jobs I would be willing to work for 7.25

And there aren't many jobs that PAY just $7.25.

In San Antonio, here are some entry level pay rates:

Bank of America: $17/hr (plus incentive to increase to $20/hr by 2021)
Large CU (not us): $15.00+incentive
Amazon: $15.00/hr
City of SA: $15.00
Target: $12/hr with plan to increase to $15 by 2020
Costco: $14/hr
In-N-Out: $12/hr
Car Wash: $13.50/hr. To wash a fucking car.

Bottom line. You have to try really really hard and be really, REALLY stupid, to earn just $7.25/hr. Anywhere.

My two HS kids make more than $7.25 in their part time jobs. One at a movie theater and the other at a grocery store. And that's in small town Iowa.

Im sure it's not all, but I've seen several fast food joints advertising a starting pay between $9-$11/hr.

I was about to say nothing wrong with 15-17 yr old HS kids working their 1st no skill job, living at home with mom and dad, making $7.25 in lower cost and/or poorer areas of the country (not that your town is).

In Washington State, only U16 can be payed less and it's still 85% of minimum wage which is $12/hour. I have to pay my own two lazy sons $12 hour and believe me, they aren't worth it. It goes up another $.50 each of the next two years and then they'll write new legislation to continue raising it. 75% of my workforce is student/dependents and as I've mentioned before, the cost of Reuben ain't the same in Cheney as it is in Medina. :ohno:

And their minimum starting is $11 an hr. Apparently 3 years ago it was the $7.25 minimum wage..
