Free Enterprise
Campaign finance driven crony capitalism...
But wait...as Ganny and Chizzy suggest, it doesn't really matter and they're wasting their time and resources.
It's all understandable coming from donk states and governors who hate capitalism, but conks should stick to their "free market" guns.

Re: Free Enterprise
Well if I understand you correctly I agree with you on this one. Reminds me of a situation we had in Louisiana recently. The State law was that you can't buy a coffin when your loved one dies except from a funeral home. That's ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason to require that. It was clearly just something people who operate funeral homes got put into the law.
But some monks sued and, fortunately, the Supreme Court ruled it's nonsense:

There is absolutely no reason to require that someone buy a car through a dealership. None whatsoever.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Or making it ridiculously expensive ( like NYC ) to run a taxi company so that there is no way that an individual with only enough money to buy the car and whatever equipment is required can't go into business for themselves.JohnStOnge wrote:Well if I understand you correctly I agree with you on this one. Silly remnants of the 1950's that you so love to want to get back to - amazing that you don't like certain aspects of yesteryear. Laws that specifically limit a competitor for the sheer purpose of crippling that competitor should be easy to challenge in court, and once Tesla gets one win it will be easier to win elsewhere.kalm wrote:Campaign finance driven crony capitalism...

Elon Musk has the name recognition and $$$ to really use this to change the system. He is losing battles right now, but he'll eventually win the war. Elon Musk is a true conservative.

I think Kalms point is valid
It's not so much Republican / Democrat as much as just paying off whoever is in office (period)

I'm not a Republican. I'm a Libertarian.Yet, Republicans like you wanted exactly that in North Carolina.
HOWEVER, if it comes down to it, I'd rather have Republicans running the country than Democrats running it. And for now that's what it comes down to as a practical matter.

No. You clearly put yourself into people's private lives. A libertarian would stay out of it.JohnStOnge wrote:I'm not a Republican. I'm a Libertarian.Yet, Republicans like you wanted exactly that in North Carolina.

Not true and I'm not sure John is really a full fledged Libertarian. From the party platform ...houndawg wrote:Not a dime's worth of difference between them.JohnStOnge wrote:

1.3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government's treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships.
1.4 Abortion
Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.
