That's the truth. I check it maybe twice a day. Sometimes I'll check it 3.

I check my largest 5 holdings about 4 or 5 times a day when I hear the market is going crazy. Its easy to do on Yahoo Finance if you set up an account (free). I just want to make sure nothing has gone completely nuts - more to alert me when to buy than when to sell. I don't want to set limit orders with too long a duration because things are changes so rapidly now, so I do them in my head instead.

I also own a few acquisition targets so I check those daily for any announcements.

But I generally don't watch the DJIA - its not correlative to my holdings. At least I tried to avoid it these days. :D

I never watch the Dow. Just fun for talking points. I watch about 8 or 9 markets in total if I am running stats or doing an portfolio analysis. Limits and stops right now are probably atrocious to keep track of, I am glad I don't need to. With 3% swings as if it is nothing each day, you would go nuts.

The market will rebound just in time for me to make some investments.

Yeah, well what has a number of 700?

that would be the S&P 500, which once stood at over 1500.

And Nasdaq is about 1/2 what IT used to be as well.....

Pelosi, Reid and PM Brown need to go...

Agreed...

I see a major shakeup happening on the Hill...then Obama reads the "riot act" to the Dem leadership. Geithner's just a puppet...so until there's some competence at Treasury, and the mess on the Hill is cleaned up, the slope is still downhill.

Britain's Brown isn't helping things either. His call for a "Global" rewrite of the economy only fuels the destabilization.

If I were a BANK CEO, I'd have had to worry about that $500,000 cap Obama put on compensation. Alas I am NOT, so I DO not...
