SNL Will Be Criminalized!

I can't believe anyone, ever, accused Cruz of being intelligent. What a clown!
The Senate is voting on a constitutional amendment today that would reverse the 2010 Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court decision and place restrictions on corporation's campaign finance spending, and the very idea would have a chilling effect on free speech, high-functioning maniac Ted Cruz says. Also: It could send Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels to jail!

This part needs to happen either way, he has lost it. I never watch SNL anymore, it isn't funny and too political.

This bill was a gimmick forwarded by Senate Democrats to placate their base (like Klam) over Citizens United and it was never intended to pass.

But the GOP threw dirty Harry for a loop and passed it forward and now all they have is Ted Cruz to rail about.

And of course that's just alright with klam

And since we're using gawker as a legitimate news source, here's Hot Air:

 Really?

Please kalm, I refuse to believe you and gawker.com are actually that dense.

Congressional satire...showing how ridiculous a certain piece of legislation is by actually showing just how ridiculous it is.

I would expect better from you, but then I remembered that you accused Fauxcahontas Warren of being intelligent once. :?

What klam is saying is that he thinks that corporations are entitled to free speech rights, because it would be ridiculous to think that a corporation like NBC cannot parody presidents.

Right klam?

Yes. But they shouldn't be allowed to yell fire in a crowded theater.

Btw, remember the dark ages, before Citizens United, and SNL?

Admit you got trolled by Ted Cruz, dipweed

CNN's Chuck Todd or whatever his name is had a pol analyst on this afternoon who agreed that Cruz's tack on this was not material (because this bill is just a Dem ploy and can never pass) and he was basically trolling liberals.

Congrats- you and the other section 8 liberals who make up 70% of the Democratic base

And Politico, and the CS Monitor, and Mediaite, and the WA Post.

I grew up watching ‘Saturday Night Live’; I love ‘Saturday Night Live.’ ‘Saturday Night Live,’ over the years, has had some of the most tremendous political satire,” the senator said. “Who can forget, in 2008, ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ wickedly funny characterization of the Republican vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin?”
“It was wickedly funny and also [had] a profoundly powerful effect on people’s assessment of Gov. Palin, who’s a friend of mine, ” he added.
Cruz said he asked Minnesota Sen. Al Franken, a former “SNL” actor and writer, whether he believed Congress should prohibit the show from making fun of politicians.

I put it on here because I like political theater and because some think Cruz is a deep thinker. Sorry I upset you. :thumb:

Also, see JSO's post below yours.

Just like his UN hobbit hole predictions I suppose. So clever he fooled Politico, ABC News, Mediaite, CS Monitor, Breitbart, News Busters…

And being the ace satirist that he is, he's letting everyone twist in the wind by not coming out and admitting it was such.

Thank god we have you and CID to carry his water.

You DO know this is a constitutional amendment the Dems are proposing, right? One that not only will require 2/3 of the senate but also ratification by the states?

You're blowing wind over something that the Dems never intended to pass, which is exactly what they want you to do- complain about the bad ol Republicans for being against it

OOPS wait a second

The GOP senators sent it through! Now what do we have to hang our hats on?

Ted Cruz's SNL analogy

Good job klam your handlers on the left knew just what buttons to push to get you going

Yes. I knew all of that. Doesn't change the fact that Cruz is quickly becoming the Louie Gohmert of the Senate.

Wait! Perhaps Cruz knew it wouldn't go anywhere and this is some clever ruse to make Dems look bad! :)
