Obama on Colbert Report

Surprised nobody mentioned this yet. Was flipping through the channels last night and stopped on Obama doing a "bit" on the Colbert Report. Now I know the sitting POTUS has the annual correspondents dinner when they basically lampoon themselves, but a Comedy Central show? Me being a stick in the mud aside... am I the only one that thinks a sitting POTUS should not be doing this? :suspicious:

Traditionally I'm with Hen in that I wouldn't think this is something a sitting Prez should do but I did watch it and he was funny and came off quite well so as far as I can tell it was all good.

I think there are little things like this that come along and let you know that you are now no longer a prime target and that the younger generation is nudging you aside.

Colbert just has a great team of writers. I know he's the POTUS, but his delivery was horrible. You don't need to be a professional comedian to have comic timing. Watching that video kind of shows that Obama lacks a bit of a personality. That's just my :twocents: But you're correct, the younger generations are gaining traction.

We should protest, and light the ghettos on fire.

Funny, mostly. Appropriate, not IMO.

No different than any other time in history. The only problem is that the underachieving part of these current "younger generations" are worse than previous generations.

Which generations are you referring to? The one that graduated college during 2 wars and/or a recession? :twocents:

Yup, every generation is worse than the one before... at least according to the one before. ;)

I actually talked about the 30ish crowd today at my client sales meeting. The generalization is that they are the "know it all because I read it on a blog" generation. Had one two weeks ago that ignored their realtor and ended up basically negotiating their own deal for $12,000 more than the seller originally countered. :dunce:

I don't have a problem with the top half of the group. It's a smart and hard working group. It's that bottom third that concerns me. They are fucking morans.

Not to the percentage extent of this group. Boomers, for example, didn't work in fast food for 10+ years and bitch about minimum wage. They learned a trade and hid behind their Union.

What about the middle-ish 17%?

:thumb: I feel the same way. But it's anecdotal, at best.

Did Boomers graduate college/enter the workforce during 2 wars and a recession?

Graduate college? We are talking about the bottom third of the generations. That group didn't go to college in any generation.

Oh for fucks sake, flaggy. What are you talking about? This is the first time you've mentioned bottom third of multiple generations.
