Is Iran an enemy to the United States?

Post by andy7171 »

Do we have to be actively AT WAR with someone to label them an enemy?

No, but constant sabre rattling like the NoKo's do certainly doesn't endear me to them. It's semantics, but rather than enemy I'd say we have conflicting interests. 8-)

Would our facebook relationship with them say, " It's complicated"?

It's not so much that Iran is an enemy of the US as it is that Iran considers the US its enemy and "The Great Satan". Therefore, the Iran is an enemy of the US, and some day the US will realize that.

I consider countries, whose leaders, openly state that they would like to kill and destroy us, our enemies. Iran and North Korea certainly fit that bill. Also assorted Islamic terrorist groups.
As far as Russia, China are concerned, today. They would be adversaries/former enemies, very capable of becoming enemies again.

I only worry about countries that can actually back up their words.

Rusia - Putin, because hes a man and doesnt ask for anyones approval, he is a leader and he does what is best for his country and always comes out on top.

Maybe China and Xi Jinping because they have the people, mindset and military power to make shit really hard on us if they wanted to.

All the other countries are fu*king laughable, they couldnt do a damn thing to us if they tried. Maybe a miniscule attack on WTC or something every now and then but hey, thats why we have NYC. They take the punches and take the heat off the people that really matter.

Thanks jackass. Some of us know people who died in the WTC on 9/11 and they mattered to many people.

I have a hard time not looking at the Ruskies as anything but an enemy. I grew up hating on the Communists and the threat of Soviet nukes falling from the sky. Fuck Putin! And I'm 25% Russian!

Some of you ladies just don't have any perspective. We used to be asshole buddies with Iran, even taught their secret police how to torture, which eventually backfired, and then the Shah lost control and we weren't friends anymore, but things may change in the future and we'll be friends again depending on a lot of things. If we can get the Iranians and the Saudis at each others throats we could make some serious jack selling weapons to both sides. Israel would have to buy too just to keep up with the neighborhood.. :thumb:

Point of clarification, governments and people are no synonymous FWIW

Is the Iranian government an enemy of the US government? Probably. Elements of both parties have been "at war" for decades.

But the Iranian people and the American people? Debatable.
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.
