RIP Sarah Brady

On a late summer’s evening in 1985, she phoned the National Rifle Association headquarters and left a blunt message: “My name is Sarah Brady, and you’ve never heard of me, but I am going to make it my life’s ambition to try to put you all out of business.”

With gun ownership setting record levels, I believe it would be reasonable to conclude she
FAILED!
A life wasted on the futile effort of curtailing civil rights.
Hope she is judged fairly.

Why would you berate a woman who experienced the love of her life being shot
and then responded the way 95% of humans would..
Jeezus f*ck you are an old cunt T-man

I do thank her for all the really cool weaponry I can now buy that filled the void after the ten dark years of pointless, ineffective regulation perpetrated by her in 1994. She really was central in rallying the gun community in defending our 2nd Amendment rights, and for that I am ever grateful.
Thank you, Sarah Brady!

And a VC killed my brother. So, according to Hippielogic, all Vietnamese should have been tried for war crimes.
I hope that was your attempt at a Troll.

Agree with Brady or not, her heart was in the right place. She wanted to better society and ultimately, that's the point of life: to make it better for the next generation. How we get to each milestone can be contentious, but even in our disagreements, we all have the intention of advancing society.
RIP.

Hhhmmm...and which part of society has benefited from strict gun laws?

Unsurprisingly with all your flailing on these boards you are able to land a hay-maker. It was bound to happen eventually. Well played.

If this is true then why are gun owners one of the biggest sniffling group of brats out there?

Its their entitlement mentality. Dumb fvcks are lucky if they make it through the day without shooting themselves at the local Wal-Mart.

With all due respect, I think she was a manifestation of a common "syndrome." Something bad happens in somebody's life and they think they have to go on a crusade. Also, my own belief is that she basically used an incapacitated husband to further her own agenda and put herself in the limelight.

You slow witted old fart... She's the least of your enemies
She's harmless and responded the way pretty much any woman would respond
As already pointed out - all she successfully did was strengthen the 2nd amendment reading
You need help figuring out who to identify as your true adversary
you can't tilt at every windmill old man - you come across as crazy

Jim Brady used to work for Delaware's Senator Roth back in the day.

But it wasn’t her husband’s shooting that led Mrs. Brady to call the NRA. The turning point for her activism came four years later, when their 6-year-old son, Scott, found what he thought was a toy gun and pointed it at his mother. She told him never to point a gun at anyone and, when he handed it to her, she found to her horror that it wasn’t a toy but a fully loaded .22 similar to the one used to shoot her husband.
“The maddest I’ve ever been in my life,” she told The Washington Post of the gun incident with her son that occurred during a visit to her husband’s home town in Centralia, Ill. “I was livid.”
So her kid finds a 22 pistol, presumably in the home of someone they were visiting, and points it at her so she has to go on the warpath to screw with a bunch of other peoples' lives. Why of COURSE if your kid finds a gun in somebody's home when you're visiting that means we HAVE to do things like ban "assault weapons." And using her disabled husband as a prop to further her agenda? It was all for a "good" cause.

I bet the story about her son is a lie. It's exactly the kind of bullshit made up scenario a library would try to pull off to infringe on others freedoms
