There's no alternative. It's Hillary or bust for the Dems this election so they will stick with Hillary. She'll be the Democratic nominee.

H-dawg picks up the vote of most non-progressive democrats and of every dingbat woman who thinks "it's time for a woman president" (because that's absolutely the top priority in picking a president).

Hillary implodes.

Uncle Joe Biden, the "Gaffy Warrior," runs for President with Bernie Sanders as running mate.

In November, Biden-Sanders whips the Rubio-Cruz "Dream Act ticket" by 65-35, carrying 48 states.

In January, at the Inaugural Ball, President Biden throws a thrombo and croaks on the dance floor, beating the William Henry Harrison record of Shortest Presidency Ever.

Within 48 hours, President Sanders is overthrown by a military coup sponsored by the Koch brothers and Donald Trump. Trump becomes President-for-life.

That was the thinking in '08 too. :coffee:
It wasn't the case at all, Obama had been a serious candidate since 2004, it was always going to be a race between Hillary and Obama that year. There's no Obama to challenge Hillary this time.

As for Biden, who know's maybe he can run on the idea that it would be like a third term for Obama? Maybe that resonates.

I think more liberals would prefer a third Obama term with Biden over Clinton. There's too much baggage with her.If you think the Republican party is difficult now...wait until Clinton is elected. It would make the last 8 years a day in the sun.

Obama was polling in the low 20s in late July 2007.

Bernie Sanders is polling in the high teens / low 20s in late July 2015.

I'm not saying Sanders is necessarily going to win the nomination. But, it's far from over.

July 27-30 2007. Obama 22%

I think that the Republicans are going to be too busy trying to regain some semblance of relevancy and maintain their grip on the Big Nyet to present us with another McConnell Against Everything Obama congress. Every day they become a bigger laughingstock as the crowd that thinks whats good for billionaires is good for America blows away like dust with the vanishing middle class, leaving only the feral bitter enders of the Tea Party to carry the Republican flag. A party who has played to its base of bigots and racists for so long that the terms have become synonymous with "Republican" now has to live with a slate of hopefuls that can't even manage to look like presidential timber against a buffoon like Donald Trump. :ohno:

Its way past time to shitcan this pitiful excuse for a political system and switch to a Parliamentarian form of government like the rest of the first world. :coffee:

Huh? How is the Republican party not relevant? They have the majority in both houses of Congress and hold more than 3/5 of the governor's mansions. The only thing they don't have is the Presidency. Democrats crowing about how the Republican party is "a ...laughingstock" and "...blows away like dust..." are ignoring the truth on the ground - the Republicans are winning more state elections and more national elections than the Democrats are. I'm an independent, but it's clear that the Dems are closing their eyes to reality if they think they can just walk into any election, call Republicans the party of bigots (even if it's true), and coast to victory.

And be careful what you wish for - if we did go to a Parliamentary form of government (ironic that a Democrat like yourself is advocating that, party founders like Madison and Jefferson would be rolling over in their graves to hear you back what was basically Hamilton's idea at the founding) it would just give more power to the Republicans since they hold majority status in both houses of Congress despite no longer being relevant.

In the sense that they have nothing to offer except an Implacable Opposition to Anything the President Supports. And more free rides for billionaires and mega-corporations on the backs of what is left of the middle class.
And yet they keep getting elected time and time again, enough that they control both houses of Congress and a historically large number of governorships. And it's not just billionaires and mega corporations voting for them, it's the same middle class that you say doesn't exist anymore. Again, if we moved to a Parliamentary system, like you want, that would eliminate the only thing that Democrats are currently still winning, and that being the Executive branch.

That would make sense if the GOP always had majority status in both houses, but those are only recent gains, along with the many governor's races they won. All that winning and moving from minority to majority status in those areas flies in the face of your point that the GOP is no longer relevant. While you're saying they no longer matter politically and are falling apart as a party, they are winning everywhere.

hillary's campaign is not going to fizzle

she will be the nominee

then she will be president

let's face it, she could show up to the national convention draped in bloody baby seals carrying a swastika and yell "fvck all of you - just vote for me" and she would win

honestly - I dont know why she doesnt just come out and admit that she had a private server in order to spare her poor self and family from the vast right wing conspiracy

that would end the scandal right there in the eyes of the dorks that will vote for her anyway
