Republican Party chairman Steele's remarks under fire

In a February interview released late Wednesday, Steele said abortion is an "individual choice." He said a few minutes later that he meant states should decide.

Steele also told GQ he believes homosexuality is "your nature" and he doesn't like "mucking around with the Constitution."

By contrast, socially conservative groups and Republicans such as Exodus International and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin say being gay is a choice. And conservative groups, including the GOP, have long sought constitutional bans on abortion and same-sex marriage.

The best thing that could happen to the GOP is for the religious right / fiscal irresponsibles to leave the party......or for the fiscal / true conservatives leave it to the flesh-eating zombies who have been running the party recently.......

Michael Steele is to be applauded for the freshness he is trying to bring the GOP. The "He's our God, not yours" wing of the conservative movement however continues to believe no black man should truly speak his mind and especially not over them. Thanks to these nitwits, Obama has smooth sailing through January 2017.

GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

Living where I live, trust me, sometimes you HAVE to overestimate and 9 of 10 times, one's gut feeling is correct. Unfortunately.

Michael Steele, so far, appears to be the token. It's a shame. He coddling of Rush is an even bigger shame. The Republican Party will die if it continues down this road. Perhaps it needs to.

I almost feel sorry for the guy.

he says something that makes sense, seems heartfelt and close to what most Americans feel, then he has to apologize for it.

Funny thing is, a lot of the state chairman support him and see his logic. It is the idiots in Washington/the National Party/right wing media that are freaking out, and the ones that will keep a Democratic majority as long as they call the shots.
