I won't cast a vote for either major party so ditto.

Problem is he might split 1.5 % of the vote with someone.

I liked the Jim Webb impression Alec Baldwin did on SNL. Probably the most I've seen of Jim Webb ever. :coffee:

First time seeing him and hearing him was during the Dem debate....he needs to just go away. No one that awkward has any shot.

I spent a long van ride and conversation with him in Vietnam, and met him on a few other occasions. I've read all of his books, and his nonfiction- particularly his take on the Scots Irish shows a very agreeable intellect. He was good friends at the USNA with my uncle who was later shot down and is still MIA somewhere in Laos. After my uncle was shot down, he called my aunt (who had only been married a short time but had two small children) to check on her as well as tell her stories about their Academy days that she didnt yet know at that time. He's a class act.

The guy has a steel trap mind and a near photographic memory. But none of that qualifies him more than the fact that he has more integrity than the rest of both fields combined, and he is beholden to nobody.

We could do a lot worse than him, and we HAVE done a lot worse than him for the last three presidents. I would trust his judgment in the Oval Office- he would be strong on foreign policy (which means no more world police) and strong on the economy because he would encourage heavy industry and manufacturing to relocate back to the US.

Ill vote for him if he winds up on a national ballot.

I'd have to give Webb some serious thought myself, particularly if I lose my fucking bet to Jizzang.

This is pretty much how I have viewed him. I'd vote for him, but will never get the chance.

Living in MD I got to see a LOT of him when he was running in 2006. Hard to explain, but he comes across as creepy. It's common knowledge he is, or at least was, a complete sexist. He always reminded me of this guy when he'd speak...

He just might be...

Webb Attacks Clinton With Eye on Independent Run
If he declared an outsider presidential bid, the former Democratic candidate could have an outsize effect on the race.

He'd steal more Republican votes than Democrat. Ie. a boost to Hillary.

Therefore, fuck Webb.

Well if the Republican candidate somehow manages to be Trump, ANY independent running was going to get my vote anyways...

Oh and btw it is also fun seeing liberals who talk about how the GOP has shifted so far right ignore the fact that the Dem who most resembles a Kennedy or a Truman is seen as too conservative, and less popular than an avowed capital S Socialist

Both parties have shifted to the right, especially from a corporatism standpoint (See Harry Reid's recent gift to casinos and Wall Street).

Both Sanders and Trump are doing well on the populism front with the Democratic Socialist leading Trump in national polls.

I, personally, think Trump is full of shit on most of what he says and I'm guessing he'd actually end up governing to the left more than people think. We'd survive him too.

He doesn't give me a creep vibe, but Rand Paul sure does, and so does his Daddy.

Settle down Little Debbie, he's talking about the parties as a whole. Sanders was never aligned with the Democratic party until he decided to run for president.

He won't raise them 11 times in 8 years like Reagan did. :coffee:
