Post by Chizzang »

Ever wonder what it takes to get Oklahoma in the news
4.7 magnitude earthquake among 7 recorded in Oklahoma..!!!

"Oklahoma has become one of the most earthquake-prone areas in the world, with the number of quakes magnitude 3.0 skyrocketing from a few dozen in 2012 to more than 720 so far this year. Many of the earthquakes are occurring in swarms in areas where injection wells pump salty wastewater — a byproduct of oil and gas production — deep into the earth..."

Gas drops to $2.00 a gallon... KEEP ON FRACKING BABY..!!!

Has anybody noticed that Shitzztain started two threads at the same time-

one tacitly bashing fracking and the other congratulatory about low gas prices?

I don't like the one where they said, "those who can do; those who can't teach"

I don't want some useless motherfucker trying to teach me something they can't even do.

the quakes that scientists have linked to oil and gas activity.
In my experience what is typically meant when people say something is "linked" to something else is that they have identified an association. It does not mean cause and effect has been demonstrated.

For example: If you get a statistical association between people eating Mamma LoveBud Meat Pies and Salmonella illness you say the meat pies are "linked" to the illness. But it's not "confirmed" at that point.

Like for instance a few years ago we had a thing where Salmonella illness was "linked" to tomatoes and it caused all kinds of problems for the tomato industry. Later it turned out it wasn't tomatoes causing the problem.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

12 annual compared to 750 annual events...
I would say they are clearly "linked"

We used to have 12 accidents a year at this intersection
Now after we removed the stop light we have 750 a year - I wonder if they're "linked"
