At OKWU, we teach you to be selfless rather than self-centered. We are more interested in you practicing personal forgiveness than political revenge. We want you to model interpersonal reconciliation rather than foment personal conflict. We believe the content of your character is more important than the color of your skin. We don’t believe that you have been victimized every time you feel guilty and we don’t issue “trigger warnings” before altar calls.

Oklahoma Wesleyan is not a “safe place”, but rather, a place to learn: to learn that life isn’t about you, but about others; that the bad feeling you have while listening to a sermon is called guilt; that the way to address it is to repent of everything that’s wrong with you rather than blame others for everything that’s wrong with them. This is a place where you will quickly learn that you need to grow up!

This is not a day care. This is a university!

He'll be sacked within a month by the entitlement generation. Or he's being racist - I can't really tell anymore if these guys lose their jobs over being "racist" or failing to be politically correct enough. :coffee:

When my wife read me that letter while we were driving down the road, that was my exact reaction as well. In this fucked up, politically correct world we live in he won't last a month. Despite the fact he's 1000% right.

I guess I'm part of the entitlement generation, but I think he's spot on, other than the religious BS. :coffee:

Well, it WAS in response to a whiney bitch's complaint about a sermon. So, kind of hard NOT to go with the religious angle on that one...but generally I'd agree with you on this...

I just read the blurb Ibanez posted, but if you're attending a private religious college and you're whining about a sermon... :?

The letter was written in response to a student complaint about a Christian chaplain’s sermon, per Piper: It appears that this young scholar felt offended because a homily on love made him feel bad for not showing love! In his mind, the speaker was wrong for making him, and his peers, feel uncomfortable.

Despite the fact that colleges have historically existed to provide knowledge, the opportunity to meet new people from different cultures and ethnicities, and encourage creative thought, colleges are now allowing their students to deprive them of the ability to prepare their students for life outside of academia due to political correctness. :ohno:

I think you're in the early part of this generation, as am I, and it sucks being associated with them. They are terrible people.

Yeah, I graduated in 2010 from a pretty liberal university, in a very liberal town, and I don't recall any of this trigger warning or safe space BS. Thank fuck.

This^^^. What the heck is she doing in a prvate Christian college to start with if she feels that way about Love?

My bride had I Corinthians 13 (the Love Chapter), the passage the whiney one in the article complained about read at our wedding. I'm hard pressed to find it offensive (there are parts of the Bible I can see being complained about).

For a second I got kind of excited…then I see it's not a major public institution in the state that it resides. :tothehand:

Didn't say it was.

It's probably well below average academically, though.

Costs 10k more per year than Tulsa, for instance.
