What he should have said, if he had to say anything, was remark on the FREQUENCY of mass shootings (where 4 or more people are killed/injured). Then, he'd be a bit more accurate.

I'm sure expandsos will have a field day with this. How is Obama making statements like this, seemingly regarding this as another regular mass shooting, when we don't even know the people involved and whether this is some type of ISIS terrorist attack?

According to you then, the USA is similar to all those countries you listed above? there are no differences and we should just accept that we are the same as Libya, Iraq etc. Clearly the point being made is that in no other advanced, first world country, do you have a "regular mass shooting."

What befuddles me more than anything is to hear Obama and liberals still calling for background checks. WTF are they going to do?

1. Young-white-angry-at-the-world-loner-male doesn't have a criminal record and his well-off parents often have guns that can be used.

2. Young-urban-black-gangsta-badass may or may not have a criminal record but he can always get a weapon from family or from his homies or can find it somewhere on the black market. In fact he almost never buys guns.

3. Foreign-terrorist-muslin is much too resourceful for any gun laws to really do anything (how do you think the Paris shooters got their weapons into France?)

Same ole same ole from gun control advocates…let's pass laws for our peace of mind so that we can say we're doing something…doesn't matter if they actually make sense or not.

What Obama said was actually exactly right, there are more mass shootings in the US than any country in the world. Every week innocent American lay in pools of their own blood & Washington plays the strings like Nero overlooking a burning Rome.

The point is that Obama was clearly incorrect.

If he wants to limit his blatherings to, "advanced countries/first world countries/etc.," then he should say that.

But what he, and every other Liberal, is purposely ignoring is that WE, the supposedly civilized country, export violence, intentionally, on a massive scale each and every day.

WE make a lot of the world unstable...intentionally. But you want us to live in peace. You seem to be OK with that irrational thinking.

The other point is...guns are NOT the problem. If you try to take them away, you will have a bigger problem.

Rather than focus on the guns...focus on the root of the problem...people.
