FCS Playoffs. Round Two. Tomorrow. Six of the 8 games are rematches of games played during the season...it's exciting, playoff football...supposedly what we ALL cherish and why we are in the FCS and not some bottom-dwelling FBS conference.

And yet, 14 of the top 15 most active threads on this board are NOT about the playoffs. Hell, they're not even FCS football-related.

Guns. Shootings. Conks. Music Lyrics. Crooked cops. TJ. Deaths of musicians. Healthcare. FBS football. Gas prices.

I find myself coming here less and less....sad, really. End of an era.

Dude, where have you been all this time? This has RARELY been a football board for the past 7-8 years. I always tell my wife that it's a football forum that occasionally has a story on sports.

And it's one hell of a variety forum and not bad for news with many opposing viewpoints and links to a variety of sources I wouldn't normally consider.

And the freedom here is WAY better than most message boards.

SHSU: no real active posters
McNeese: one
NDSU: one
JMU: 2
JSO: 0
UTC: 0
El CID: 2

CS.com is more of a haven for the criminal class of AGS. I go over to AGS for FCS news. And here to talk freely. Two different worlds.

FCS is dying, dude, has been for years. Losing more and more teams to FBS, longtime standard bearers at FCS are either no longer here (moved up) or are shadows of their once selves, and the newbies in FCS don't really post here. FCS used to be right there with the non-power conferences in FBS, but that's not the case anymore. We're the third rung in the college football hierarchy, not tied for second where we used to be. With that dropoff comes diminished interest. It's why there are tons of great DII and DIII football boards.

Then there is Delaware.

Keep projecting your own program's failure onto the rest of us. The number of FCS over FBS wins (including a couple against P5 teams this year alone) suggests it's doing just fine.

Perhaps, and we've definitely lost some large fan bases to FCS. But there are more factors than just that. More message boards to choose from, newer formats, greater social media competition...

And how much is Chris marketing this site?

FCS isn't dying, but it is definitely fading.
When you look at all the top flight teams who have left over the last 20 years (15 Championships???), it's the reality. Teams have moved in, but they didn't replace the quality that has left.
