Ghosts of Christmas past? More like specters from the South's racist past.

More than a dozen cadets at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, were in hot water Thursday after photos were posted online of them looking like Ku Klux Klansmen.

"Preliminary reports are cadets were singing Christmas carols as part of a 'Ghosts of Christmas Past' skit," the school's president, retired Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa, said in a statement. "These images are not consistent with our core values of honor, duty and respect."

The minorities should protest and demand the resignation of the president and board of directors. After all, 2015 has been the year of wrecking school administrator's careers by passionate students.

Rosa doesn't dick around. He's a friend of my inlaws from when they were all in the USAF together, he doesn't screw around with issues, especially PR issues.

It may well have been harmless and they intended it to be something else- but if that is the case they will still be on the quad for a very long time. If not, they will be gone.

I didn't see any Klan attire in that pic. Non-story.

The cases over the heads are the issue. Only an idiot would look at that and not be able to make a guess. CID is probably right.

I'm thinking the old bald headed guy in pic #1 will be jobless by the end of the week. Not the sharpest tool in the shed to lead something where they obviously knew how it would be viewed if it got out and then to allow pictures.

That is a ridiculous over reaction. Those are not Klan outfits. I mean come ON.

A Klan outfit is a robe. There's no "shirt and pants" look. This is ridiculous.

Those outfits do NOT look like KKK outfits. Not only do they have pants and shirts but the hoods don't have the "long point." People are just looking for reasons to be offended.

Yes I know this guy is military and therefore in many respect is a real man's man. But in this regard:

What a pussy. Show some balls. Say, "Look, those do not look like KKK outfits at all. They look like the bad ghosts in the Casper the Friendly Ghost movie more than they look like KKK outfits. Get a life."

Are you serious? Can you not see that if somebody decides they're going to dress as a "ghost" they run the risk of having someone say "Klan?"

If you decide you're going to dress as a ghost, what are you going to do? If you put a sheet over yourself and put eye holes in it someone might say you look like the Klan. And these guys didn't even do that. They had shirts and pants. They didn't have "robes," which is what the Klan has.
