LA Schools Closed for Bomb Threat

All Los Angeles Unified School District campuses were closed Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was called in to a school board member, police said.

It was unclear when the threat was made and to which school board member, but the situation prompted the LAUSD to close all schools effective immediately, according to the Los Angeles School Police.

Students and staff were directed to stay away from all campuses.

The Los Angeles Police Department was assisting with the threat investigation.

Simple way to prevent this shit - every time you have a bomb threat that cancels classes you announce that a makeup day of school will be held on a Saturday. That stops is cold and/or the kids take care of it because they know who the perp is.

I remember all the bomb threats back in middle school (late 90s), one year we had about 15-20 i believe, up until 9/11 then there was that one day where almost every school in Delaware recieved one on that Friday. But none since that I can remember.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Los Angeles), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs committee, said the email lacked “the feel of the way the jihadists usually write.”

Sherman said the roughly 350-word message did not capitalize Allah in one instance, nor did it cite a Koranic verse. He said the elements of the threatened attack also seemed unlikely, such as the claim that it would involve 32 people with nerve gas.

“There isn’t a person on the street who couldn’t have written this,” with a basic level of knowledge of Islam, Sherman said. “Everybody in Nebraska could have written this.”

Nice demonstration of tolerance and a jab at a whole state, douchebag.

Oh, and nice job of pointing out how jihadists actually write so the next time it will be taken even more seriously - that's why law enforcement generally keeps their information pretty locked down until an arrest is made. If he's a product of LA county schools, then we should all aspire for something much higher.
