Student Teacher Dismissed for Speaking Out

Won't comment to start. Just watch the video below and know that the student teacher who delivered the address in the video to the School Board was told within 24 hours that he couldn't stay at the school he was student teaching at anymore and escorted off the property by police. I've Googled to see if anything has happened with the situation since he was kicked off the campus but don't see anything.

I did find this response from the School System Assistant Superintendent:

There was nothing unprofessional about his presentation. Kids aren't punished for using profanity, so the school district is tacitly agreeing to its use. They just don't want to hear about it. That assistant superintendant is what's wrong with their school system.

What is that probability that every student he referred to is black?

Don't worry, this has been happening for years even in lily white Spokane.
Probably some of your white trash kin heading north.

Sad to see someone young and who cares squashed like that.

And that's why we get what we get out of our education system.

Fear of litigation. The problem starts at home.

I would guess that the reasons he was dismissed were a) student teachers have no job protections but do bring potential liability to the school system, and b) at 2:42 he essentially threatened to respond physically to a particular situation. His opinions may be valid, but his position put him in direct contact with students, so the school system had to remove him.

I have no problem with the expletive the way he used it but I can see employers having an issue with a person using a public forum to make a scene about his employer (and yes I consider a school to be the student-teacher's employer). If you have issues with your employer, don't air the grievances in a public forum without understanding that you might have to face some consequences for that.

Agreed, and she's probably just another educational bureaucrat who's never taught a class.
