Wolves are Smart and Organized

I'm fine with hunting them and protecting livestock, but this appears to be a pretty damn sound strategy.

Image
"A wolf pack: the first 3 are the old or sick, they give the pace to the entire pack. If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack. In case of an ambush they would be sacrificed.

Then come 5 strong ones, the front line. In the center are the rest of the pack members, then the 5 strongest following.

Last is alone, the alpha. He controls everything from the rear. In that position he can see everything, decide the direction. He sees all of the pack. The pack moves according to the elders pace and help each other, watch each other."

They get it. So should we.

I'll be in the Lamar Valley next weekend checking them out. I'll be sure to give a few of them treats and pats on the head.

You can look it up, but this is one of those false FB things that go around. There's actually no "alpha" wolf, but instead an alpha pair (one male and one female). They always take turns leading the pack.

There is no way to tell from the information provided if what the person who did that Facebook post wrote is even true.

Edit: After I posted that I read the responses and see that someone already said it's actually false.
