Will Klean support Trump because of this?
Why is Trump the only leading candidate who wants to dump this $1 trillion boondoggle?

The F-35 joint strike fighter—a plane made by Lockheed Martin on which our government has promised to spend upwards of $1 trillion—is mostly known for its high price and equally high number of problems.
This “too big to fail” project has problems everywhere you look. It has been called the plane that “broke the Air Force” and “ate the Pentagon.” Just one plane may cost as much as $159 million, and a single pilot’s helmet costs $400,000—more than double America’s median home price.
American taxpayers are on the hook to spend more on these planes than Australia’s total GDP.
Oh, did I mention the plane kinda doesn’t work? As Reuters reported, the F-35 “can’t turn, can’t climb, can’t run.” A recent Pentagon report found that it has literally hundreds of problems, some of the dangerous to the pilots, which still need to be fixed.
Archibald notes that among the five presidential frontrunners—Clinton, Cruz, Rubio, Sanders, and Trump—only Trump has spoken out against this boondoggle of a purchase. Marco Rubio “wants to accelerate F-35A procurement so he is either clueless or corrupt,” Archibald says, and Cruz (whose home state hosts Lockheed production facilities) has been visibly chummy with the company.
That just leaves Trump, who back in October said he wouldn’t continue the F-35 program were he elected. Trump’s foreign policy is marked by nothing if not inconsistency, but he gets this one very right.
In his words, “They’re saying it doesn’t perform as well as our existing equipment, which is much less expensive. So when I hear that, immediately I say we have to do something, because you know, they’re spending billions.”
The one detail he got wrong—that they’re actually spending trillions—only strengthens Trump’s case for dumping this catastrophe of a plane.
