In the time-honored Democratic practice of cannibalism, Democrats on the Hill are focusing their ire squarely on their new President for the AIG Bonus Fiasco...

I expected this pissing match but not quite so quickly - Pelosi wants to be the alpha dog.

Regardless of who suggested the language, isn't the Congressman who introduced it and the Congress that approved it ultimately responsible?

He is standing and taking the blame, so it must be his fault.

Didn't Dodd admit to some wording yesterday? Again, I only caught a few minutes of news before work and did not hear the whole story.

This might actually help Obama long term.....the American people are fed up with Congress.....a congress who enabled Bush to lead them to war on faulty data, a congress who's fingerprint's are all over the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac mess, a congress who allowed this financial fiasco to develop to this point and then followed Paulson's advice to give money with no strings attached and a congress who is currently backpedaling and feigning outrage over the bonus payouts that they allowed to be written into the legislation but are now finger-pointing....and here is Obama, who wasn't in charge during the passage of original legislation, who was elected by a majority of americans who were fed up with "business as usual", and who is standing up and accepting the blame so we might start working towards a solution....and his own party is turning on him....this will only help him....he's already pissed off the ultra-left, so no harm there....the more he is willing to be the anti-democrat (taking responsibility), the more he starts appealing to moderate Repubs and Indys (general population at large)....the best thing he can do is start allowing Pelosi, Dodd and Ried to separate from him....

Nope, that's Dodd being caught in a lie (or being outed for not actually reading the fine print of the legislation he's responsible for)....

I could not agree more. A moment of clarity from the Appalachian hillbilly.
